Brand New 8 gallon bio cube

3/4 full and a little thicker than a cube.I'm not so sure how many cubes this would make. I guessing a lot.
I should have done this sooner. Ive thought about it often just never pulled the trigger.

I thought that may be an issue. I have seen them at an angle in bare bottoms before. A piece or two of rubble rock could help that as well. @Fudsey seemed to be saying something else, but perhaps I am wrong.

I was thinking that it might not sit flat and could end up moving around if it wasn't on sand. I think on a bare bottom it will do fine as long as it's not pushed around by the flow.

Sorry I dozed off with my son after he kicked my tail in Monopoly. I was watching his tank with him and we were talking about bedtime habits of different critters. His damsel always comes to the front of his cave and watches him get in bed. Funny, it's almost like he says goodnight.

Must be a teenager. Mine closes up at night almost always, but not every night. He is fully open before the moonlights start and mostly open when they go off for the night.

I agree. Closed quarters probably amplify it too. In a way your son is part of the reef to Angus.

@NY_Caveman I agree. I'm glad we have started in small tanks. I also think they enjoy human interaction in the same room. My goofy little guys are not shy in the least. My little hi-fin even stays in the open. They absolutely watch us as much as we watch them.

Can y'all tell me more about the Alexa/Apex thing? Andrew has Alexa. Just curious if it is something to think about with his Biocube?

I'm going to sit back and take the responses in. I'm tossing around the Apex and already have the Alexa.

Well im sure Im not using it to its full potential but I can ask Alexa to give me a status on the tank. She then gives me temp, PH, ORP and salinity readings. What I use most is simply the hands free cabinet lights on/off. This is great with wet hands.

If you have feed modes setup on the Apex you can also ask her to enable them. There are 4 different feed modes A-D and each can be programmed to turn off different things. So Feed A could be regular fish feed. Feed B could be more of a maintenance mode. Feed C could be set up for water changes and kill pumps, heaters, skimmers and reactors.

if you have the DOS its possible to configure it to mix you drinks which could probably be tied to a feed mode and Alexa.

Not trying to hijack your questions about Apex but what unit should a person look at if and when it's time to buy? There seems to be several models/prices. I don't want to buy enrty level and restrict myself down the road.

Its really meant for dosing liquid foods but for fun it cam be setup othwrwise of course.
You can probably then tie it to a feed mode and ask to alexa emable feed mode A to mix a cocktail.
