Brand New 8 gallon bio cube

Yeah, that's what I was saying earlier. I would keep them lower in the tank, if you have room. People typically have lots of corals around the sand bed though. Just depends on what you want.

Sorry I must have missed that in the sea of new messages here lol thanks! They are definately something I was interested in but wasn't sure of placement especially with such a shallow tank.

Shoot, this is a quiet night. :)

I got all wires ran, but didn't get the Apex moved yet I'll do that tomorrow morning.
Mounted the Jebao, MP10 and roller filter controllers on the stand so far, tomorrow will be the Apex display as well.
I didn't get to attach the raceway to hide wires yet because the stand is still pushed back against the wall until tomorrow.
Still haven't figured out what I'm gonna do about the light yet.

I was thinking the same thing. Low on the side of a rock in the back part of the tank maybe.

Hippie kid and I have a day together. Might explore a new lfs.
That shoud be fun ! it is great that your kid share the hobby with you.

I got it to use on the threaded connections.

I don't really know, we'll find out soon.

Also noticed an issue I've somehow overlooked this whole time...With the overflow and returns there's no way to get my light to clamp on the tank anymore so I will need to hang the light from ceiling or use a tv wall mount I have here, we'll see what happens in the next 24hrs, either way it's going up tomorrow.

I realize the "threaded PVC" thing was a few pages below but want to weigh in as it is an important topic.

Below is some very useful info regarding properly plumbing threaded pvc fittings. It's from one of the biggest pvc companies and may be more than you ever wanted to know but has served me very well. Also, I can tell you that I have extensive experience with plumbing from new build homes to remodeling to tanks.

I think many people mix schedule 40 & 80 pipe and fittings (90s, 45s, unions & Ts), for appearance reasons. I do use some schedule 80 valves (like ball & gate valves).
