BRS prices?

This is an interesting thread lol… if they do honor all those “MISTAKES” was this really a mistake? Hmmm :thinking-face: With all the rumors going around it’s hard to believe anything haha!

It is. There is a lot of noise out there surrounding BRS and their respected mergers and/or acquisitions and I honestly do not know why. It is the oddest thing in my opinion but it is what it is.

Hope the weather and day is well for you. I know we are expecting 100+ next week so I can only imagine what you guys are looking at. I may have to make a couple day trips to Monterey and get some diving in :)

I'd nab o

I'd nab one but they're now showing the 24" as discontinued.

They're only "discontinued" at BRS. It's misleading. You can buy from MANY other locations, including Orphek directly.

This is not directed at you BTW - jus an general observation.

Its easy to throw around platitudes about "the right thing to do" without having to be the party held to upholding it. I am sure we all do it in certain instances.

Who pays for the loss? Sure a simple mistake that costs a few bucks and a nice customer service gesture is one thing, but what if this error was to the tune of a $50K or $250K or more? Who loses their job or has their salary cut or what contractor gets fired to make up the difference?

I would not expect any vendor to take a loss on something due to a pricing mistake like this and would not expect a customer to demand that I honor such a mistake. Frankly, I would not want customers like that and would prefer they take their business elsewhere.

The cost of such a mistake isn't lost upon me. And as far as who pays for the loss, the party responsible.

If it costs someone their job, so be it. Its called accountability, something we could use more of in this country.

I've dealt with BRS for years and they always honor prices or mistakes. Even sometimes your own mistakes. They replaced an ink bird for me because I had a leak on my tank and it shorted out. I didn't even ask for that and was checking to see if it could be fixed at my expense.
I also recently won the BRS Preferred Reefers Event so I may be a bit bias.

I thought I saw that for a second

"Hey, what the heck, MP40s are 239 bucks????"

And then when I refreshed

It was gone

Considering I just bought 2 of them full price, and Ecotech never has discounts

Per turbed
They informed me if they do a sale shortly after you purchased something they may give you brs points for the difference.

Sure there are instances where somebody should lose their job for making a mistake and instances where they should not. We have no idea the circumstances of what happened. It is not relevant (punishment or not) to the obligation to honor the sales or not.

While we are talking about "doing the right thing" and "accountability" - what about the people placing orders to take advantage of what they are certain is a mistake or error?

They would not be canceling any orders that went through and had the cheaper prices, it’s the price matching that would be hard to do. Anyone could get a screen grab from earlier and demand products for certain prices. That’s an unrealistic expectation. But if your order went through and was 40% off. Then that should stand. Like the rumor they were canceling ghl orders. None of those were canceled.

While they may decide to honor the orders, they are absolutely under no obligation to do so. The unrealistic expectation is that they would honor checkouts made with the pricing errors. The fact that they appear to be doing so is a bonus, but not a requirement.

I am actually surprised by this comment. We must do better.

Have you ever made a mistake? I'm sure you have. We all have. Hopefully they are ones that do not ruin anyone's lives. We learn and move on. Must be nice living with rose tinted glasses on.

Bean - you can't win. Somehow, somewhere...never mind. I already know you know the answer. Hope your day is well.

My GHL order was cancelled when they had that pricing error. I think almost all of them were actually. It was a couple years ago. We all got points or 10% off our next order. I don't recall which one it was

Anyone remember Target Tori?

Aww I remember that one. Yes. Those were. The recent ones were not. Nor were empty boxes sent out lol.

The recent GHL pricing drops were part of the liquidation as they broke ties with GHL and are clearing out inventory. Same with Hydros. That was planned and not a mistake so it reasons they would ship those out

Careful, you just hit upon the real problem in this country, entitlement. It is most egregious when it masquerades as accountability. Kudos to BRS for doing what they could. That’s not accountability, that’s kindness and generosity.
