It will not have the effect you want on Dino's. I had a massive outbreak of bryopsis. By day 14 my tank was completely bryopsis free. At almost the moment the bryopsis dies off entirely, the Dino's showed up. Without algea, the Dino's had all sorts of nutrients and we're out of control.
I employed a few things.
1. Manual removal. I used a syringe, a turkey baster, and a 3/8 inch hose as a vacuum to keep water loss to a minimum..
2. NO WATER CHANGES. Not until the Dino's are gone. Dino's love new water.
3. 3 days no light. I do not mean turn the lights off. I mean wrap your tank in something unpenetratable by light. Then turn off your lights. Including moonlights etc. Hammers, frogspawns, montis, acros, and softies did fine, as did NP stuff like sun corals and gorgonians.
4. 1.5 ml of 3% hydrogen peroxide per 10g every day for 5 days. Started on the day I began no light. Dosed directly into the sump return chamber. Please don't dose what I did. I took a risk and over dosed on purpose. It worked but I don't want to be responsible if your tank crashes.
5. Soak power heads/heaters/ any equipment in the display in peroxide and scrub them with a tooth brush. Rinse with di water before you put them back.
6. When the lights come back on, run on a reduced amount of time. I am going with 6 hours instead of 10 right now.
7. keep your chin up. All of that won't kill them completely. Stay on top of them and be vigilant.
