To my pleasant surprise when I came home from work the algae showed clear signs of fading and greying. To the touch it also felt fragile.

I am contemplating turning on the skimmer tomorrow (after 72 hours) as the algae die off could cause other nutrient related issues.

Any thoughts.!!

I replaced my skimmer cup after 24 hours

For tank with a ton of bryopsis, are you saying you think it'll die faster if we keep removing it?
Sorry I meant my skimmer has been pulling out extra gross gunk since the start of the treatment, I havent removed any of the bryopsis by hand, its just neen dissappearing slowly. The only thing I've done for treatment is shut my carbon reactor off, dosing, lighting, skimmer has all been normal.

Oh okay, thank you [emoji3]

Just got Fluconazole today from https://www.payless-petproducts.com/fluconazole200.html, ordered it Sunday morning using PayPal. Trying something a little different, see if results are positive. Tank is 150g, plus sump, minus coral and rock, so total volume could be anywhere between 100-150g? Best guess would be around 130g. Removed GAC, filter socks and turned off skimmers.
Mixed two 200mg capsules in a cup of RODI and poured it in the sump for a total of 400mg Fluconazole. If volume is actually 130g that should put the dose around 3mg per gallon. Let's see if a lower dose will still work to kill the crud.
here's a few pics before the dose, will try to take daily pictures, but may not update thread daily.

the 3mg per gallon dose is working, it's the 4th day, I do have a sally lightfoot, few emeralds and orange spotted rabbitfish, that are most likely eating some of the Bryopsis off the rock

So I just put activated carbon back into my system, and flicked two virtual switches on Apex fusion and now the auto water change is running. My system appears to be bryopsis free! Everything in my tank looks happy as can be. Fluconazole saved my reef!

My green star polyps not liking life right now

My GSP were unphased, infact in the last two weeks the ones that have escaped onto one of my rocks have spread significantly.

Congrats, I have about 1 week left!

Woohoo!!! Congratulations!

I'm not sure what's going on with your system. How many days in are you now? I would have expected to see more results by now.

The Bryopsis on your frag rack is getting lighter compared to your day 1 pic but the frag on the sand doesn't appear much different. Do you happen to know what your par levels are at on the sand?
Not sure but if you think it will help I'll keep cranking the lights up higher.

Well I know everyone's Bryopsis that was higher in their tank in higher lighting died first. I just can't believe that yours isn't changing more than it is. The algae on your frag rack is in higher light though and it's starting to change. You could crank your lights up some to see if it helps but I would watch your corals, you don't want to burn them up.
