I don't do water changes so...I'll play this out then if needed I can deploy my last 8 200mg.

Anyone run super high magnesium, maybe my super high mag made the medicine less potent?

My Mg level is 1500ppm. I am 6 days on my 45 gallon. My bryopsis turned white and died within 3 days. My gha is turning white/grey.

My nano is much lower around 1350ppm. I am 9 days in and the nano reacted very differently. The Bryopsis never turned white. It turned into a green matted mess and began falling apart. It is dying but taking its sweet time.

What are the light differences between the two tanks?

This is the most economical solution.

I've spent probably close to $1,000 to NOT beat bryopsis in an 200 gallon system. Even that price from Dr. Foster's Smith is reasonable in my opinion. Especially since it works. Remember this is only a one time dose!
Thanks for the link everyone. $80 is the price two gallons of Tech-M cost eight years ago. I can deal with that.

Rick, I would have broke down the tank and nuked the rock long before spending a grand on algea.

For those that have tried Flucon in FW tanks, can you post your tank's info? Things like is your tank planted? Low tech vs High tech. CO2 or not. Tank inhabitants, etc. Thanks.....

I tarred my skimmer today and it went crazy pulling out whitish foam.

Another thing I have noticed which is what others have seen is that the rocks closer to the light source are getting effected faster than the low lying areas of the tank

I'm starting this tonite. My 200mg fluconazole arrive today.
I have some dinos in the display and HA taking over the fuge.
Anything I should know that is not on the first page?
My tank is a Triton tank which relies on a large healthy algae bed (refugium) with Chaeto and other macros.

We've had several people run this treatment with different macros and none of them have reported any adverse reactions. It won't have an effect on your dinos but it will take out your gha. It may take a little longer on your gha if it's not a high par area but it will still work.

Could changing filter socks cause the medicine to be removed? Today is day 7 and the bryopsis is most certainly starting to grow back after and steady and strong decline. The only thing I did different was change my filter socks because they were clogged

Oh the HA is definitely in a high par area. lol
Do we know why it won't effect the dinos? That brown snot (assuming it's dinos) is driving me crazy.

Forgot to mentinon I have Bryopsis in the nano so i'm treating that too.

Don't know why yet(twilliard is researching it)...I can only tell you that it didn't have any effect on my dinos and it's driving me crazy too. I have an ever growing list of things that I've tried to get rid of the brown slime and while I can blow it off the rocks with a powerhead,it laughs(I can hear it) and comes right back the next day.

I changed my filter socks to mess socks during treatment so I'm not sure if others have ran their regular sock or not. If it's coming back I would say enough of the meds were removed somehow to allow it to regrow. Nobody else has had this happen yet.
