Also should try and figure out if the ones with positives results- are they treating with vibrant and fluco?
I dont believe this is the case, many people stopped using once a cyano outbrreak occurred.

I'm not active on this forum (my main haunt is nano-reef) but have been following this thread with interest.
My 1.75-gallon (7 liters), unfiltered reefbowl has had bryopsis since last spring. Because I do 100% water changes weekly, I've been able to keep it under control with spot treatments of peroxide, but it's never quite gone away. So I decided to give fluconazole a try. Last Friday, after the water change, I dosed 54 mg.
Yesterday, three days in, I realized I'd only added about half the recommended dose of fluconazole. Based on the recommendation of 9 mg per liter of water volume, I added 54 mg to my reefbowl because the volume is about 6 liters if you subtract the rocks. What I didn't take into account were the binders or fillers that might also be in the capsule. So yesterday I dumped out all the powder in a flucon capsule and weighed it. It was 375 mg! Oops.
So I have another 50 mg ready to add. But the flucon appears to be working already, even with a half dose. Several strands of bryopsis that I intentionally didn't treat with peroxide were eaten by the snails last night. Usually they never touch the stuff unless it's been broken down by peroxide first. It could be because this system has no filters or adsorption media, so none of the flucon is getting extracted.
What do you think, should I add the rest of the flucon so it adds up to a full 9 mg/liter dose? My fear is that if I knock back 95% of the bryopsis with a low dose, the rest could develop a resistance and not be susceptible to further treatment.
This is my reefbowl:

Here are some pics of the bryopsis that I took before the lights went on. Again, my bryopsis problem is small because I do peroxide spot treatments every week. I know this looks like GHA, but the strands have a feathery structure, so I'm assuming it's a strain of bryopsis.

I quit. However I am considering biweekly with vibrant. There are some of us that are doing both vibrant and fluconazole or some dose nopox (I do)and I believe some are dosing h202. We should have a second poll on if and what people are dosing if anything alongside fluconazole. What do you think?I dont believe this is the case, many people stopped using once a cyano outbrreak occurred.

Beginning to lighten up here and this area is not in good lighting at all because it's shaded by the frogspawn

The top of the really tall rock has not only turn white but there appears to be less total algae and that location

The coral top left is a thick birds nest. It is supposed to be green but in my tank it's more pink than green. I think I have it under too much lighting. What is that last coral in the bottom picture? Left hand side?
Also, I'm dosing vinegar and have seen tremendous results. Only thing that has me worried are the last sprigs so I'm hoping days 10-14 will be the days they go away to. If not I'm going to have to dose with medication again I'm afraid
Hows the tank doing! The coral top left is a thick birds nest. It is supposed to be green but in my tank it's more pink than green. I think I have it under too much lighting.
I would wait and see... give it the full 14 days and see what happens. Some people of had the last few sprigs died off at the last minute.
I think you missed my update lol. Post # 1410 [emoji1]Hows the tank doing!
Has anyone tried manual removal once the patches of algae have shown weakness?? This might really expedite things especially for folks who have patches of algae that are turning white but not really disappearing. Why not get in there and remove it while the meds are doing their work, at that point I would assume it'd be really hard for it to grow back
Not voodoo. .... but like fluconazole is magic in a bottle. What is this Vibrant stuff people keep referring to? Some miracle in a bottle, voodoo magic stuff? *lol* Most I ever used is Tech M until that failed to work after they changed the formula. Now I am going to test the fluconazole with one of my SPS nanos and see how that does with the bryopsis.
Cheers,
Alex
