What is this Vibrant stuff people keep referring to? Some miracle in a bottle, voodoo magic stuff? *lol* Most I ever used is Tech M until that failed to work after they changed the formula. Now I am going to test the fluconazole with one of my SPS nanos and see how that does with the bryopsis.

Cheers,
Alex

Btw, looks like the vendor is feeling the flood of orders now as they have this posted on the website. *lol*

Because of temporary limited stock on hand we are limiting the quantity ordered for the next week or two until more stock is available. The largest quantity that can be purchased is 20 capsules. More stock will be available in a 1 to 2 weeks. If you have a larger purchase please stop back and purchase more then.

There is a massive Vibrant reef cleaner thread, and its made by a company called Under Water Creations (UWC). It wouldnt be difficult to go from "voodoo magic stuff" to scientific explanation, spellbound...

Day 1
Day 5

Definitely dying, sorry pic is crappy bit it shows the difference.
Since this is low tech tank I have siphoned off algae. Once with a water change, replaced meds. Second time into filter sock and returned water to tank.

My toadstool opened back up last night, has not opened yet today lights have only been on a couple hours. My hammer looks like I'll probably lose it. [emoji20]

But if I beat the algae, I won't sweat the cost of a new hammer frag. Hate stuff dying though..

Soon as the Fluconazole is done, I'll be tackling my aiptasia issue..

Did some quick research here and on other reef forums and it looks to me like the vibrant is mostly a bacteria in a bottle product.

I am not putting down the vibrant product as I have never used it. But I would beg to ask why do we need to add any unknown type of bacteria strains to our prized reef tanks? And it does seem odd that the company just put out the product for resale last year and yet on Facebook someone gave it five stars in 2013. Just pondering this and thought I'd share. Again I'm not bashing anyone who uses vibrant or those who have had good results with it.

I will be using the fluco for bryopsis.

Cheers,
Alex

I have to tackle aptasia in my nano after treatment too. [emoji24] I wish there was a fluconazole for aptasia!

Reef napalm is the best for aptasia. 500ml water. 40gramd pure lye. Mix let cool and use a syringe to Apply. Only need a drop or 2 per aptasia and they will be gone. Just don't use alot all at once. Space it out over a few days

3mg per gallon, 1 week update. Corals, fish, inverts all fine, only thing dead is Bryopsis. There's still some straggler strands and I enjoy watching them suffer a slow death. Skimmer, filter sock and GAC have been off line since starting treatment. Will resume mechanical filtration in the next day or two. I would be curious too see if a 1mg/gal treatment would be a success. Don't have anymore Bryopsis to find out, all the tanks have been treated. Going to let the treatment ride out for the 14 days to make sure Bryopis doesn't miraculously start growing again, before I call it a success.

thanks again guys for the amazing breakthrough, my overflows thank you too

Reef napalm, that's funny. I usually found that kalk paste works good. Or pickling lime paste works too.

This is a Fluconazole thread that touches on the vibrant topic, but really just are we using it or not. It helps in exporting. Please PM @UWC and ask Jeff these questions. Hes a great guy and always willing to respond to questions. Even when the same question gets asked a thousand times hahaha!

DAY 15 and the tank looks awesome! I still see some little sickly tufts of "GHA ;)" but its mostly all gone! The Bry has some stubby dark green "sticks" left. Im adding the carbon back in, doing a WC, then starting round 2 of Fluco.

Amazing! (It never gets old watching people's bryopsis disappear)
+1!!!!! Keeps giving hope and excitement! I know everytime I see someone else's success pictures I do the happy dance and go peek at mine again lol
Edit: cuz I hate autocorrect!

Perfect. How do we know when to start running carbon to remove it or when we might have to dose more. I just ordered some, here what's in my tank currently.?

Most people are waiting a full two weeks before doing a water change and putting carbon back online. If you still have some algae that's dying off at two weeks, you can waiting another week to see if it completely dies.

How long is it taking everyone to get their order from payless pet? Just curious.
