Ha! Thanks. I've thought about them but I think that purchase would lead to my wife killing me.
Between buying a reefer 250 a few months ago, and the bergias going into the rocks never to be seen again.. I'd never hear the end of it
I hear ya!
I just stocked up on $190 worth of dosing chemicals, Salt etc..
My wife  said it's already that time... Again.

Fifth day and I see no effect on bryopsis, dose was 7 tablets 200mg in 65 gallons
No skimmer no gac, what is wrong?

Are you sure it's bryopsis and not gha? It would make sense to take this long if it's green hair algae. Make sure you're not running purigen or skimming the meds out and have lots of light on it.

Day 5 and I'm starting to see results!! I'm seeing algae flying all over the tank!! Pretty stoked to get this stuff gone
Great!
Are those Lord Acans on the 3rd picture right in the middle of that shot?

Yeah I got a bunch of random acan lord the pink ones in the middle get super huge!! My favorite are the iron mans up from in the round tile.
They are looking awesome :D
Are the iron mans the huge ones right below the tile?

My second dose finishes on Monday, I would say 90% all gone, few tuffs hear and there, I did knock my skimmer back on a few days ago, have a trip to London next week so going to order another few batches just before I go away for a few days as I think I may need to dose a third session just to kill anything left over once I come back.
I do think Fluconazole is a game changer it's made me enjoy my reef once again as I was getting rather depressed about the GHA and Bryopisis problems spoiling my tank no matter what I did to combat it.

I agree with you but I wonder why it is taking so much to completely rid your tank of it though.

I hope it doesn't behave in the reef like it does in humans... When prescribed for humans doctors have to give them an exceptionally large dose in order to knock out whatever it is they're trying to knock out. The reason being is each dose there after requires more and more as it's less effective each time in the human body. Kind of like your body gets immune to it after a bit. So I hope it doesn't have the same effect on our reef systems.

Btw, I read that there are 57 strains of bryopsis and even more in green hair algae...

No worry, no offense. I know many feel they are a pest. Now we know what folks can use to take them out! Do I see a new thread here?
"Fluconazole cures Pulsing Xenia"

I like them too, until they start to take my entire tank over and a lot of reefers think of them as a pest.

There are a lot of forums of people trying to kill off their Xenia.

I'm sorry for your loss :( and I didn't mean to offend you.

Regards, GoVols

I am on my 5th day of 1ml/ 8gal 2x day, starting to breakup gha and may start breaking cyano, hard to tell the way cyano spreads. Have fluco on order will wait till the 14 day treatment of h2o2 is over to treat any residual gha and bryopsis that vibrant didn't kill

let me get this right!

beginning tomorrow night treat!

1- water change
2- eliminate coal
3- no skimmer
4 - insert 150mg fluconazole for 30 liters (only once)
5- change of water in 15 days
6- little food
and I look forward to the dead algae!
:):)
I can proceed ?:):)

Would having a certain rock like my pukani have any effect in slowing down the die off due to it having a very pourus structure, roots of the algae bedded deep down within the rock.

Im at day 11 now, was expecting the Bryopsis to have cleared by now, but still there (although doesnt appear to have grown since, and has dulled a bit in colour) - I picked some out today as it was bothering me (I know this is against advice).
So - at Day 14, do I run a WC, then run another dose for 14 days, Re-dose without the WC, or run WC, without another dose, in the hope it is just slow to react?

It's funny that you bring that up. I refer to the distance from my lights (the sun) and my Acan Lords (the Earth) as the "Goldilocks Zone," or the circumstellar habitable zone. In a solar system, it's the distance from our star which means it is neither too hot, nor too cold to support liquid water or life (Acans).
I found that zone in my tank and epoxy several pieces of flat (dry live rock) on top of my 30 year old Tonga live rock and made a flat platform or stage and filled that flat stage with Acan Lords. Acans above the stage don't do well because they are to hot "close to the Sun". Acans below the stage also do not do well because they are too cold "too far from the Sun". But the Acans (and Scolys by the way) sitting level on the stage are just right! They do wonderful at that exact level position from the Sun. (Lights)
This is funny and suppose to be but it works. Acan Lords make up the majority of my current tank and are doing great. What else is strange is there was no algae in the Goldilocks Zone. It was all above or below it!

I like the way you explained that!! What's really interesting is the place that there the happiest didn't have any algae. I think it's time for a larger tank!! Lol

That's what I was thinking - cheers. May stop the carbon dosing as well (I had skimmer on, but overflowing with no cup on, next time i'll run with skimmer off for 4 days rather than just ticking over).

It has definitely made some difference, as tips of most Bryopsis had turned white, but main body of it just lost some of the bright green colour. Could just be my patience not allowing it to run its course :)

So I found out that the Fluconazole is on back order from that place I ordered from Kinda sucks

I think @d2mini was going to have his water tested but I don't know if he has yet.
Sample sent out today. Will report back in 7-10 days.

I'm still getting tons of what appears to be diatoms... deep brown rust color on the sand bed.
And my sps are turning dark/dull.
