In only 8 days the algae has been reduced and withering away at a rate i could not believe. I ordered another 100 capsules just in case the first treatment didnt work but i think its doing better than i imagined. My only concern for my sps is my PO4 going up to .06 from no water change, die off of algae, no skimmer or UV. My GFO is still online but looks like ill need to change the media to keep that .06 number at bay. My sps are doing great and no ill effects to anything. This is really a breakthrough and now i can stop syphoning and pulling algae out every 2 months. funny thing i just noticed, a frogspawn coral hiding under a batch of algae that i never knew was there under that algae.
Guess ill start the WC process when its all gone. Flucanazole makes reefing great again!

Need to get a new kit.. I have been dosing small doses of acropower. I am a novice with sps so it probably something else. What's weird is just the other day they were all coloring up well and really growing. It's like overnight, bam.. going downhill :(
From what I can see, it looks like green hair algae

If there are spikes in alkalinity or your alkalinity level drops too low they can do that also.

Great news! .06 po4 isn't bad but I wouldn't want it any higher. I am sure your gfo is spent by now and agree you should change it out.

Congrats!

Thanks for all your help in this thread!

Just wanted to report that it killed ulva algae. It took about 2 weeks. So if anyone is dealing with it and was wondering if this would work; it does :)

I have a retail business with 3 raceway style tanks all connected together. About a 1,000 corals sps, lps and softies. No negative results. Thank you for sharing this product. Not to often we get solutions to problembs that work this fast and not have any negative issues. Big leap forward in this hobby! I am sure it will save 100's if not 1,000's of people from getting out.
Woohoo! Great news! Do you have any pics of the ulva algae so others can see? Thank for chiming in!

If I stabilize will these come back?
Hopefully. I am in the same boat as you but due to a power outage. Some of mine are, some stopped worsening and others didn't make it. SPS are very finicky and need complete stability. Best of luck!

Bit of an update and feedback, not good news [emoji849]

My bryopsis is back [emoji33][emoji33][emoji33][emoji33]

So just to fill in the gaps, dosed back in Feb this year. Fluconazole cleared all my bryopsis in a week, but the last few days I've seen fronds appearing on 2 rocks.

I cant rule introducing this via frags I've recently purchased but there was no visible signs on any plugs.

Pretty gutted tbh, thought i had rid of this pest for ever. One thing is I'm not touching it ill see how it develops and if it comes back in force redose. As many others will know manual removal just spreads.

Keep you updated

i just ordered the fluco 200mg tablets as well to attempt to gain control of an outbreak. fingers crossed!

Well that's not good. You won't really know if it's the same bryopsis coming back from some left over roots or if you reintroduced it with your new frags but either way,I wouldn't let it get too out of hand. Waiting until it gets bad again will just mean more roots with the possibility of them hanging around. Keep us updated.

So I'm on day 3 of first time Flucanazole treatment with no visual changes yet which i can understand cuz it's early= but my question is to ya'll whom have used it, did you all turn DOWN your flow or just keep your regualr everyday flow in the tank?

Kept flow the same. Only removed skimmer cup and any chemical filtration. Everything else kept the same

And its on a powerhead that was soaked in vinegar so pretty sure its new. Also on one rock where it never was before. Yucko
I wonder if the roots/spores can hang dormant. My went... not even a sign of it. Everything I added after was on clean (to the eye) frag plugs so don't think it came from new stock.

Just shows how stubborn life can be to survive. ... hate the ****** stuff !
