Byropsis keeps coming back help

I would put that rock in boiling water, if it’s not too big.
Never boil or bake reef rocks. You never know what corals have been on the rock in the past. You could release toxins into the air

Sup guys I been beating byropsis with flux rx but it’s comes back after 2 weeks…why dose this keep happening…what can I do to stop is from coming back
problem is- Everything is being suggested except the MOST important thing- You MUST get rid of the roots. If not, it will come back again and again
A dental pick and some patience, , , , remove them one by one and soon it will be no more.
After you are done, adding chiton snails, nerite snails, ninja star snails, pitho crab will help control it

I wasnt suggesting for you but rather the OP to know that it is a foolish option.
Theoretically, it’s possible. You would have to have a space inside the rock that becomes populated with enough water even though it is airtight. Then you have to boil that water so that there is sufficient pressure to explode the aragonite, which most people can’t cut through with a saw. I say the chances of that happening are a little bit less than getting struck by lightning when you leave your house tomorrow.

Not that I’m suggesting it, because God forbid I should be responsible for any exploding rocks in people’s kitchens, but if you bring the rock to a boil, you’ll kill the roots.

too risky and not worth it.

Raise your magnesium level SLOWLY to above 1600 by increasing no more than 100ppm per day, then keep it there for several weeks. A reef tank can generally handle it. At the end, do 10% water changes every few days to lower magnesium down to 1350-ish.

That was a thing back in the good old days and was attributed to an undefined impurity in “Tech M”.

I think a pot cover should mitigate the risk adequately.
As a trauma nurse, ive seen too many on here go to E.R. due to not knowing what was in rock or on their hands and ended up being toxic. Pot lids will not stop atmospheric gases in which most are colorless and odorless.
Not saying bad suggestion - Just R I S K Y

I assumed this was well understood but putting a lid on a pot does prevent toxic fumes...which as i indicated earlier is a mich bigger risk than explosion(which is possible but less likely to be the issue). Toxins from sticking hands in the tank is not at all the same thing as toxins that are aersolized.
