Cade Chaos Grimoire

My 2 cents worth on glass vs acrylic is : everyone I know that went with acrylic wishes they didn’t. Some urchins will eat the acrylic and leave little divots in it. I vote for glass and add the armored seams to the custom tank. Protects the silicone from your razor blade glass cleaners. I added them to my new tank. Not that much more $ for the added protection!
I didn't even know armored seams were a thing! Yes

Nah, for the ATS. I guess they call it something else for dripping through, rainfall or some fancy thing like that. I have a float right now, santamonica
Ahh so float like Santa Monica or waterfall like my Icecap scrubber. Got ya.

ATS is fine and more than likely with an ATS a smaller skimmer will be fine.

When you say drip or float, are you referring to the ATO?
response part 2: yeah this skimmer barely kicked on with the heavy bioload in the smaller tank between the ats and the roller

Ohh that's right, you have a roller too.

Just thought of this. Being as the house is being built, wonder if you should pay the plumber to run you a 1" pipe outside and cap both ends. Run from where tank is planned to the nearest exterior wall. This may mean pipe through the attic area, as I think you are building on a slab. I can't remember that, have slept since then lol.

Edit: Fresh air line for a skimmer is what pipe is for.

Yes, building on slab. What would we be doing with said pipe?

NVM I see the edit
You could always put it in after the fact. Especially if you can go up in the cabinet area where the back of the tank will be. May not be needed, but with the house being newer, it may be sealed up quite well and that will help with PH in the tank.

Don't forget to take that nap!

Yeah, I think at this point unless we can catch the plumbers ourselves, every change we want to make calls for a change order fee. BUT Matt already intends to run electrical up from that wall through the bar into the other side of the bar for the keg fridge and beer fridge anyway. He could easily do that modification up into the attic for me if needed. I'm pretty sure the ceiling doesn't start the vaulting until further in

Acrylic for me. Glass is ok for anything under 300 but not preferred. 300 and over acrylic.

As for the Clermont reference, I was more referring to a sump for your build. Owners name is Mario.

Here is a link to the company's f/b page.

Here is another company out of Punta Gorda that does custom sumps.

Those guys do nice work!

Okay, I'll put him to work figuring out if he wants more space in the bar before I hit up Joe for quoting. I love the back overflow/ato set up I have with the current cade, it's not an option on their peninsulas - they do the sump ato instead.
the tank is one thing.... now for the bar, build the largest you can possibly imagine.

He immediately asked me if it was available within minutes of posting it, and said he was interested before he even like talked to me about any of the specifics. Ask me for my zelle and said he would come Wednesday for it. I got super sketchy vibes from him right off the bat and did probing questions which he answered, and then I figured out a way to send him my zelle information with email instead of my phone number because it seems sketchy still. And then he asked me for my name, which we are talking via Facebook Messenger. You can't infer what my name is through the conversation? But I said oh it should automatically load up and he said oh I just want to verify and I said okay so I gave him my name spelled incorrectly. I use this program all the time so I know how it works.

He then sent me a proof of payment screenshot and said it was removed from his account already please mark it as paid and I said I'm not marking it as sold until I actually received any funds and he insisted that there was the proof there and I should have an email saying we're good to go. And I didn't have an email, so I looked at my spam email and I had an email there that looks nothing like their emails. With my name spelled wrong. The way I told him, not the way the account is set up.

I just told him I still didn't have anything, and then he said oh wait I got an email that said that there was a problem, is this your personal account? And I said you got an email saying there was a problem? And he said yeah and that it's saying that he needs to send me more money and then I'm supposed to turn around and send it back to him. And I said that's weird, that's the first thing that pops up for scams to watch out with for zelle If you Google common scams.

And then he said oh no what do I do? And I said if you legitimately think that you paid for this it sounds like you need to have a conversation with your bank. Because you did not go through the proper means to do it. And he stopped responding

Hey @danieyella - I had a long, lost cousin of mine, who happens to be a Nigerian prince, wire funds for the tank to you. It will hit your account right after I pick up the tank. I even directed him to send an extra $500 because, well, that’s the kind of guy I am. I’ll be by later this morning for the set up.

Speaking of funds, hope everyone buys a MegaMillions ticket for tonight’s $1,000,000,000 drawing. If you win, please don’t forget that I’m the best friend you’ve never met!

You sound really familiar with the process :thinking-face::thinking-face::thinking-face:
