Calling all Noopsyche K7 pPro III V3 owners

So I just got my light today. I was upgrading from an older K7II pro I have been using.
Wow this was a crazy upgrade in power.
I have had G4 radions in the past and even with the new ones They are not $700 more better than these. These are probably what 95% of a radion now with the wifi app control and such.
I have them over my little 21gallon lagoon and with my settings I am still getting like 150 on the sand and 250 and such on the rocks
So now if I upgrade to a 40B or slightly larger I only need to spend a little bit for another light not crazy amount for the other brands
What are you doing with the Pro II?

Any of you guys ever had kessils or radions?how do these compare?

I'm in the market for a light with good UV on my 2' x3' x 21" height tank and leaning towards 2 of these noopsyches

i have had Kessil 350, and 150
I have had Xr30 g3, and XR30 g4 lights
The kessil has better shimmer and creates a great looking light,
The Radions i had really sucked when it came to blending. I had to buy the diffusers so they didnt look like total garbage. The new G5 and G6 seem to fix that but are those lights worth an extra $700.
heck no. It might have a few extra little features but your not going to grow coral better just cause it says ecotech over the tank.

Makes sense in regards to the radions. How is the shimmer better, is it because of contrast?

I'm trying to be on a budget so now I'm thinking 2 noopsyches and 1 or 2 supplementary UV led strip lights

Kessils basically just have the best shimmer going. I have yet to see a light top them in it. they have perfect blending

Well, I'm now in the right thread because I bought 2 k7 v3... couldn't pass it up just under $400.

Greetings all. The purpose of this thread is to see if we can share our settings with each other. Tank descriptions, coral kept, distance from lights to coral etc. Maybe even coral growth if you have had them running long enough. I'm finding some settings posted randomly and thought it would be nice if we could have a thread dedicated to sharing settings and results in one place.

I installed 4 of these over a 6ft 180 mixed reef. I just installed them last night and still have some work to do. Currently I can only connect via ap but I think it's user error. I have a par meter (apogee 510) so once I get everything finished I can take some readings. I had a radion xr15, hydra 26hd, and two black boxes crammed under my canopy. The K7s are sure pleasing to look at compared to that mixture.
Thank, I look forward to seeing how folks have these lights set up.

I'm not sure about placement yet, may have to play with them. The way I have them mounted I can slide all 4 side to side the length of the tank and about 3 inches forward and backward.

Hi,

I realize this post is a year old almost but hope someone can help me out.
So I have just a single K7 Pro III on a small 3 gal. I just picked up a 225 gallon tank that is 72"x30"x24" can I ask what railing you are using to mount the light over your tank like that. I will need to buy 2 more lights as well.

Thanks!

Sorry mine are mounted to my canopy so probably not much help for you. I may be wrong but I think @Gtinnel has some on a rail?
I used one part of the mount and longer screws to hang mine inside the canopy. Not the cleanest look but I can't see the top without climbing on something so I can live with it

I have 3 on my 125 gallon tank. I'm using the clamp on brackets sold by noopsychic.
These replaced light bars that covered the full 6 feet. I like the clamp ons a lot better. Easier to get into the tank for cleaning, etc.

I threaded screws with washers into the 4 mounting holes on the light and then hung them on two t slot aluminum rails. Then those rails are hung from my ceiling.

Nice....is there a way to mount from back of tank rather than hanging from ceiling?

One package with these lights come with a mounting bracket, although I opted not to get the brackets so I have no experience with them. I know you specifically asked about a rail so I don’t know if you are opposed to individual brackets.
If willing to mount the rail from the sides of the tank it probably would be pretty easy to make something with the t slot aluminum rails that would mount from the sides of the tank (kinda like the multi light Ecotech rail mounts).
I have also seen people add brackets or shelves to their wall above the tank to hang lights from.
