Calling Current USA light owners... where you at?

I also use the Orbit marine pro along with the loop system on mine. Can’t say anything for supporting Sps but grows my softies and LPS wonderfully . Even supports a derasa clam who I’ve had for a year now and has shown white shell growth . Below shows the growth from September 27th to last week.

@Sarah24! It’s not connected right now because I’m not by it, but here’s the settings. At 4:00pm it won’t switch from daylight to sunset. Whoops moonlight won’t let me do that it just offers like 2 hours or four hours so select what you want.

Oh I see click on sunrise which is ramping up try 7am to 9am then day light from 9am to 5pm then sunset 5pm to 11pm (or what ever), moon light stays on so either select off or put in 11pm to 6am. It’s because you don’t have the time settings. It’s missing the day light time frame completely. Whoops on moonlight mine does only 0 hours 2 hours etc, so select what you want. I’m trying to do a screen shot but it’s mad because I don’t actually use ic loop lights

It’s because you don’t have the time settings

Hmmm... there isn’t a place to set a sunlight or moonlight time. There were little to no instructions to set it up. But from what I read online the time you have set as sunrise is when the lights come on in sunrise mood... they sit there for 15-30mins(read different thing) then automatically switch to sunlight until the time that is set for sunset. At the sunset time it switches to sunset for 15-30mins and then goes to moonlight for the duration that is set. After that it turns off until the sunrise time. So mine should go

7:00am lights turn on in sunrise setting
7:15/7:30am lights switch to sunlight setting
4:00pm lights switch to sunset setting
4:15/4:30pm lights switch to moonlight setting
8:15/8:30pm lights turn off

it does do this 4/7 days, the other three it goes from off to sunrise to sunlight to stuck and never goes to sunset, moonlight,or off.

So I was clearly wrong on the timing.

Below is what the actual time is
7:00am lights turn on in ramp up
7:15am sunrise setting
8:15am ramp up
8:30am Daylight
4:00pm ramp down
4:15pm Sunset
5:15pm ramp down
5:30pm Moonlight
9:30pm lights turn off

This makes a lot of sense on why things were not working, I didn't know the sunrise and sunset were an hour and a half. So I would always start messing it with because I thought moonlight should start at 4:30... not 5:30. Also I learned that if you have the app open in the program settings it wont continue the cycle. So if you were to go in and mess with the light percentages and not exit out back to the home screen the lights will just sit in whatever phase they were at until you go in and close out of programming.

Hi @New&no clue I’m on the same boat with the Current USA, ic marine pro dual lights 48” (18” deep 100 gal tank). Softies and lps doing fine for now but started adding sps and might need the same boost you gave to your system. Which hybrid lights did you end up getting to go along the Current USAs? How did you mount them and which settings did you finally put on the leds? Pictures by any chance?? Thanks!!!

I’m glad this thread is here for current lights. I have the dual IC pros with wave pumps and will get future return pump. Really like how they’ve set up the loop system. I run a 54 corner tank and grow lps and softies with no issues. Really looking forward if they come out with a stronger light!

I run two 32" Marine IC on mine + 2 eflux mid range + the bluetooth (including the temp probe). It's been really nice for me to have the whole system linked in 1 app - cleared up my cabinet to move to the bluetooth, for sure. My tank is too new to comment on growth, but it is maintaining softies and SPS just fine for now. The settings are really nice, easy to manage and fine to manipulate. My only request would be for smaller return pumps so I could use it inside my small refugium. Also, as a hint, make sure you always go "home" on the app or it will run in the background on "program" and mess up your timing.

I have the two 24" Current IC LEDS on a 29gal biocube built into the canopy. Ive had them for about 6 months and had my settings at 100 blue 80 white 100 red 100 green. My torch coral that ive had for almost 3 months is starting to bleach and my hammer coral ive had for 6 months is suddenly retracting. Should i be running the whites lower? I run the above settings from 5am to 12:30pm and then run 100% blue and 5% white for 6 hours. my lowest coral is about 16 inches from the light and thats my torch. my hammer is about 8 inches from the light. any help would be appreciated.

Hi Beez, I’m no expert but the only thing I can think of is that you are running the lights for too many hours i believe. Daylight for a reef tank should be around 9 to 10 hours, sometimes less if you run T5s and/or MH. You can run sunrise/sunset with lower settings too. I think the 24”s also have a pre-programmed setting with a 24 hour schedule.

Hi All,

For anyone who has these... and having success I was wondering what your setting are?

Reds, Green, Blue & White %
How high above the tank are they
Do you have any other lighting with it, T5 or other LED

I have the marine ic pro mounted 4” above the tank with B100% W50% G&R25%. I have no additional lighting but thinking about a T5.

Any thoughts would be great
I loved mine wasn't a pro but it just didn't have enough output and ended up giving to my dad for his freshwater tank and buying a couple mars aqua

My hammer and frogspawn are about 7 inches from my dual ic pro's I've been running blues at 100 white at about 25 to 35 and red and green at 5. I've only had the one hammer for about a month bought it as a frag and I just noticed it grew a second mouth and is getting ready to split under these settings

This is exactly what I run mine at(I also have the pro, run my white at 35%). Tank is a IM Nuvo 20 peninsula. Light right on top tank. Growing Monti cap at about 9 inches down, Monti digi,Anacroporia, birdsnest and stylo growing from 7 inches down and above that. Acans, candy canes and mushrooms on gravel bed growing good but the Acans turned orange from red.
If I had to do it over I'd buy a more powerful light----which I just did---setting up a IM Nuvo 10 as a QT then using it as a frag tank--I bought the AI Prime 16HD for it. With the Prime I can run much more powerful blue light with less white and get more PUR.

You have the reg pro or the IC pro?

Do you have the stock lid on your NUVO? I have a NUVO 30 with my lights right on top and it's such a pain to feed because I have to move the lights and the lid. Wondering if you had a better solution or doing the same thing

Thank you to whom ever started this... I was starting to think I was the only one running these lights. I have 3 72inch IC Pros running on my 220.. does anyone have their connections to the hub coming loose and slightly melting ?

Yes stock lid. I just put some frozen brine shrimp and mysis in a plastic shot glass with some tank water, stir it up and pour it thru the mesh lid. Some gets stuck on the mesh, I just fill the shot glass with more tank water and pour it on the stuff stuck on the mesh. Most comes off. What doesn't gets cleaned off once a week when I take the lights and cover/lid off to clean the glass, wash the salt creep off lid and do what ever needs to be done in the tank.
I work in a hospital(Radiology) and I have a 50 ml syringe with a 13 inch rigid clear plastic straw that pushes right into the end of the syringe.(it's my "turkey baster") I use that to feed my LPS coral(LRS frozen nano) as well as reef roids to the zoas and SPS(the fish get some too). I also have some 10 ml syringes with 8 inch guide wire dilators in them that works great for blasting stuff of rocks/corals. Both go right thru the mesh lid.
I try to put my hands in my tanks as little as possible.
