I have no idea about them. I just want one I can put in the basement and have go to a bucket no special under the sink style. Simple simple. My tanks are small so I don’t need 100s of gallons. I see brs ships to Canada. Maybe something from them?
Thanks everyone. I’m thinking my well water is causing me problems. I just ordered a tds gauge to see what I’m dealing with.

I looked on Amazon and a lot of people said those brands leaked etc. It seems like if I go brs I should be prettt happy I just don’t know what one to buy lol so many choices

Go with BRS you won’t be sorry. I bought one from jlaquatics (their best one) and it was junk compared to my water saver from BRS.

Spectrapure100%

Maxcap standard is a good start and wont break the bank. Plug and play right out of the box but you should calculate your rejection rate/ ratio after you flush the prefilters so you know youre economizing and not wasting money.

Customer service is top notch too.

Oh and I get my tds gauge this week I’m on well in sandy soil. Should my decision for stages be based on what my well water tds is?

I use this one and it's been outstanding... 0 tds every time. I've had interactions with the company as well and they seem top notch.

Yes. You should determine what your filtration system is on the water you are filtering (PSI, TDS, Sediment, CO2)

Spectrapure fan here too. I have the Maxcap 90, and I'm glad they finally got the message about free shipping on those filter replacement packs. I used to buy my 4pack replacement filters from elsewhere until they started free shipping on items over $75. Now I feel like I get fresher replacement cartridges buying direct.

Spectrapure IMO is the best quality for the money too.
I think the maxcap standard comes with .5micron carbon already and the dual resin with the silicabuster is amazing.

But well water with high co2 will destroy the resins quick, less than 100 gallons and my final DI cart started showing 1ppm. Best to airate your RO water for 24 hours then pump it through your di carts.

Later on you can also swap the RO membrane for their spectraselect plus which is something like 99%+ rejection and maxcap super cartridges so no need to buy the mamajamma system unless you really want to.

just bought 5 stage BRS with gauge and meter....then realized i also needed a booster pump ( my well varied between 35-50 lbs...membrane works best with 80 lbs pressure)....just made 50 gallons and half my di resin has changed color already ....so i probably should have gotten a 6 stage...and i only had 38 tds coming out of the tap....so i'm guessing my issues are silicates as rock around here is quartz and granite...the BRS kit came with absolutely no instructions (except for tds meter)...tried to email them and no reply... so i had to watch a ton of their videos and search a lot of forums to sort things out....and most of the things i was trying to figure out were answered by the guy from buckeye hydro...so in retrospect even though i'm not having any problems with the BRS setup if i had to do it over again i think i'd go with buckeye

I’m sure I have silicates here too from the sand ok great info everyone I will have to look at this hard and also see what my tds is this week

oh and the same aquatec 8800 pump kit was $40 cheaper from amazon than BRS (and free shipping)

I would purchase from Buckeye Hydro. Russ (the owner) spoke with me on the phone. I was looking to upgrade from my BRS 4 stage and he talked me out of buying a new unit. If I ever end up buying a new unit I will 100% go with him.
Spectrapure tried to get me to purchase a very expensive plus $1,000 unit for no reason or need. I am sure their units are fine but the customer service felt pushy and dishonest.

I had the complete opposite experience with spectrapure.

And IMHO id want to get away from the brs base unit anyways.

1 out of every 3 people cant grasp their tds meter configuration lol.

I use the reef version from AirWaterIce. Works good for me.

I’m in Canada so I’m sure some of those options won’t work. I had a guy here who services our water softener quote me 1000 bux canadaian for a system which I thought was insane but it aaa probably something insane crazy which we don’t need. Brs seems to be a good place for me since they ship to Canada
