I have a nikon coolpix that is broken but still takes pics does that count? Its broken cause the battery no longer stays in unless i hold it in thanks to my wife giving it to my syster to "borrow" and then her dropping it 3x before returning it to us a couple hours later. So now I have no money to buy the Nikon D40 I want.

so these were taken with a coolpix that I have to hold the battery compartment while snapping the picture. So does this tell you how steady my hands are cause there is no tripod involved.

Ok, what I want to know is HOW MUCH POST PROCESSING are you guys doing to these images? I have a Canon EOS 20D and a sigma 105MM macro lens, which is a more expensive camera than Rev's Rebel XT (and of approximately the same age) -- how are the pictures you take so much better? What is your tank lit by? I have an L-glass Canon telephoto lens that doesn't even get pictures that good, if I am trying even to do a FTS. All my images always come out looking overexposed, no matter what I do, and, even with custom white balance set, my point and shoot camera does better. what the heck? Can I get a few pointers here, please
