chalice or any coral for that matter ???'S

ok sorry guys....kraylen you have a pm.

I think Miguel's Angel Eyes micro , should always be Angel Eyes...same with UFO or Tyree chalices...I think every seller should be aware of the people with a real experience collecting coral and this type of people can tell if you sell worthy coral or you full of c"""

I'm not sure I fully understand this statement.

That's the thing, is you have Joe Schmo saying "Oh this is the Tyree Fox Gadget Josh Rev Bubbleberry Watermelon Cherry Razzleberry Dr. Doom Vs. Thanos Chalice" when really it is not.... If someone is trying to pass a cheap fake off as something real, then yeah... We want to know where you got it from, who they got it from etc..

Look at it in through a "Collector's" eyes... No matter what, there are going to be fakes/replicas of everything... coins... guns... cars... etc... The same applies in the coral trade.

You can paint a Honda Corvette red 20 times, but it is not a Corvette.

Lol ****** kraley hahahahaahhahahah

Forgive the "ESL student" here lol...What i mean is, when you selling a coral which you got in LFS and it look exactly the way Blanes PE looks like you should let every one know that " coral for sale is "wild collected PEs". Also, what i mean is that if you buying collectors coral you should know what you doing...You need to research corals you are looking to buy and atleast try to buy from some one with reputation...But i strongly believe that anybody can get a hands on the unique morph and Naming should not be only the privilege of the "frag champions"
BTW can anyone one ID chalice in the middle? I payed top dollar for a tiny frag but i dont see any resemblance with original piece(if you guys ID it the way seller did then i just wait more on the color to pop out)

Well...frag on the left came from a very nice seller which i would recommend anytime, frag in the middle is in the question

If you need to ID a chalice, please start a new post in the LPS id forum for your coral. This thread is about something else, thank you. :)

Back on topic....

If you buy a coral from a LFS as a random coral, meaning they don't sell it to you as "Tyree LE Badger Jerky Acans," and you turn around and sell them as "Tyree LE Badger Jerky Acans," when the "Tyree LE BJA" have already been established.... then there was a corner cut in the process... direct linage is not achieved that way, you are then selling a "Tyree" coral that Tyree never even touched.

Also, what the heck is a Red Hornet? They're called Devil's Aura....

I believe there is an example of difficult "lineage" situation and isn't it what we discuss here?

Your situation is a little different than what we are talking about.... sometimes corals look and grow different under different lighting, and in different tanks. Camera/skills and post editing also have to do with most picture comparison questions... If you got a coral from a LFS or a person that was supposed to be something, and they can't back up the linage story to the originator, then chances are it's a fake/look a like or whatever... It may not be, but if someone is requesting a high price for a high price coral they better be able to track it back to the guy who first got the colony and went "oooooooooooooooooooooooooo."

So how would one track the linage on the strawberry shortcake acro??? Every vendor on here had a blow out sale one day... A rel expensive piece of sps with so many owners now... I got mine from mr.coral... Now if Joe schmoe grows it and got his from mr. Coral also but he is well known and I'm not his is worth more??? I'm just asking kraylen I have no clue and never hear of lineage untill I came to r2r..

This is a cool thread btw... I got some real nice pieces coming and I'm sure they have some linage.... Gonna have to check it out... Be expecting a pm..... You know who lol... A big gun over here lol..

If they both came from Mr. Coral then the price is up to the new owner if selling a 2nd generation frag. As far as all the vendors having a "Strawberry Shortcake" I think I just all happened at once.. The reason I say that, is they all look different :)

Well the linage would start with you... but if you have no name in the game you become what most collector's dislike.

Would you not then have a name in the game? You have this cherry piece that no one has, and you post pics, have friends view it and post pics. You would be contacted by droves of people, business and the Tyree type people for a piece of the action. If I ever get the chance to harvest my own corals and find a gem; the last thing I would do would be to let it go to someone, so they can make a literal fortune off of my coral. They all come from the ocean, name away, buy what you like, who cares, as long as it looks good to you.....
