One of my quarantined chromis has some weird spots on him. There are 2 other chromis and a yellow watchman with him and no one else looks abnormal. Everyone is eating normal. These are all pre display qt. Anything I can do for him? Is he contagious? Is this classic uronema?

The big thing I see that worries me is the red spot by the gills. To me, that would indicate Uronema. I can't see the white spots clearly enough. Is it breathing rapidly?

Not anymore than any other of the chromis, def. more than the goby;). It looks the same on both sides of him above his gills behind his eyes. He has been a loner of the school and I have seen him get nipped at. I noticed a white spot on him a few days ago that went away during the day but was red like he lost a scale.

If the white spot doesn't last a day or two it is likely not a parasite. Chromis are known to pick on the weakest in a group until one remain so that could be the problem.
I don't have much experience with Uronema so I'm not much use from that perspective. Hopefully one of the experts will chime in soon and offer some help.

Well I thank you sir for your comments thus far!:)

How long have you had him and are you treating for anything I the QT at this point?

With chromis nowadays, Uronema is almost a given. I would start dosing Metroplex or CP, or give all your chromis a formalin bath and then transfer them into a new QT.

I know this is super harsh, but my main concern is my yellow watchman. How concerned should I be about his health being in with the chromis?

And thanks to all that have replied I have read many many threads with your replies and have used those posts to gain knowledge before diving into this hobby[emoji846]

It's unlikely the goby would be afflicted by uronema (if that's whats going on here), but could still serve as a carrier of the disease (infecting your DT) unless also treated.

The affected chromis, was swimming this morning and the red patches are white covered and slightly raised. I have not dosed anything yet but have metroplex and focus on the way. Could this be a case of bullying?

Very possible... Uronema should have killed by now.

He is still going strong as is everyone else. I will update as things progress. I treated with general cure just cuz.

If you've only had it for 2 weeks and it isn't getting any worse, I would wait and see. It might get better on its own. If you don't see any improvement in another week then I would say go ahead and treat it. Do you have a picture of the goby?

No picture of the goby. He is being a typical goby and perching until he spots food, then darts out to grab it. I definitely have one aggressive chromis. I have seen him nip at the other 2 several times. The spots look like they are healing up. I am going to do the second general cure dose tomorrow evening just to be sure. One of the chromis (not pictured, or the bully) had a poop string, so the general cure should help with that.

Thanks for the reply[emoji846]

Well I definitely have a bully. The one with string poo now has a few small patches and the one originally pictured is healing nicely. I have observed the bully assert aggression towards both chromis now. It is nerve racking not knowing for sure if this is a medical problem or just bite wounds.

Chromis are often not friendly to members of the same species in home aquaria, I'm afraid.
