Thank you guys, I caught everyone except the gamma..I lost track of him and honestly not sure where he ended up..

I'll keep everyone in qt for 6 weeks right?

Daily 50 percent water changes sound right ?

I personally would go fallow for 76 days to ensure all diseases are gone from your DT.

That works, but buying a Seachem ammonia alert badge might save you from doing all those WCs:

Thanks, that's why I asked about the seneye I'll change out the water whenever the alert goes off.

76 days it is.

Also it monitors dissolved oxygen and I have a massive amount of aeration happening in the Qt tank now..Unless there is strong objection I am going with treating the whole qt as I feel it is more practical for me right now (distracted with new born in the house )

Guys quick question,

Will an ammonia neutralizer make the meds ineffective?

Just trying to make the uncycled qt as safe as possible.

Thanks

Being ineffective isn't the concern with ammonia reducers. Some meds, like copper, will react poorly when combined with an ammonia reducer. With copper, for example, the reducer will turn the copper toxic and kill your fish. We never advise using ammonia reducers in combination with medications - it's safer that way.

Thanks, I was aware of the copper concern but had assumed non copper was okay...I'll avoid it.

Thanks again.

Alright guys, it's been more than long enough and it's time to move my two survivers back..

The tank has been empty minus some zoa's a mushroom and cuc ...am I going to have to see a re cycle of the tank? I assume I should keep a close eye on it for a while after adding the fish back?

If you want to be safe, you can throw an ammonia badge in there. As long as you were still feeding your clean-up crew the biological filter should still be intact.

I was feeding very minimally..only a few times in the two + months since there was plenty of algae to eat...I am ashamed to say the hermits took to my all my turbo's but one during this time...my mistake.

Actually the biofilter will have gone "dormant" from the lack of food to feed on but the population should still be there. It will start to come back to active once the fish and food are added back to the tank. Do keep an eye on it just in case, but it should be ok.

Thanks guys, hopefully this is over and done with and my survivors don't turn up with it down the road...just in case I ordered some formalin - Ms To have on hand...since I could not find it anywhere locally.

Ich x I feel did nothing for me and I feel it was just luck 2/6 made it.

Also my QT is staying up first to re stock on fish and then I'll be converting to a cuc + frag qt

Lesson learned the hard way.

Okay so I qted replacement clowns yesterday and now one is dead...

Any ideas what I should be treating the other one for in qt? It's acting ok but did not eat.

*Edit these were shipped to me overnight so mishandling is always a possibility.

@Montu Are those white marks/lesions on the body or just debris? Did the shipping bag water smell like ammonia? Was it cloudy?

@Humblefish
Just water spots on the tank glass.
All that stood out to me where those bloody looking spots:

Water in the bag didn't smell but I did not specifically sniff it, it did look dirty.
