Awesome Kim just awesome!

Thanks Rev! I can't wait to see when you have yours up and running! Being the big bad great and all powerful owner of this site I would hope you could get connected to some super sweet nems and clownfish! 1smile1

Yeah the elegance is sweet! Sorry about the platinum, that would be my biggest fear lol. Getting an expensive fish like that for it to die :( I'll get the guts some day. Love the tank!

good to hear that you're still enjoying the tank. :)

I'm sorry to hear about the Plat. it's always puzzling when something happens and you don't know exactly what went wrong.

keep posting the updates. :)

Yeah go figure it was the most expensive fish in the tank but I was just sad to see him suffering.

I have no clue what happened. He was fine in the morning. He was the more dominant of the trio and the picassos weren't picking at him. Wish I knew what the problem was but none of the other fish are having any problems so at least it doesn't appear to be contagious and yes still loving the tank just wasn't posting as much because of the stolen camera.

I have a question does your RBTA ever shrink at night.

Yes all of the nems retract at night and look very different. You should follow Marvin's anemone thread. He's going to put up a night cam. Things look so different in the dark! What's the anemone in your avatar? Is it the starburst? Can I have it please? :)

i got it at my LFS it didn't have a name other than rose bubbletip. for some reason my i pad did that to the picture it is actually hot pink and green. thank you for the info. i have tried gbta before and the only one that was doing good died in a tank crash. this is my first rbta. at a hundred dollars i am taking every caution.

I have found the ones I get from fellow reefers that have split have been very hardy! We have a good supply of rbtas around here. I can usually get them for a decent price. I even had one end up on the overflow and in the sump for weeks because I couldn't find it and it lived. It was a little pale but recovered well! :)

You would think that huh?? But no dice! LOL!

New additions

Okay Marvin's been hounding me to post updates...:hammer:

I picked up 2 more anemones. All the Clownfish are doing fine. Last weekend one of the orange and whites looked like he had a hard night of drinking and got inot a bar fight...:ooh: I didn't have time to take pictures as I was going out of town. I assume he must have been stung by one of the maxi minis in the tank as he had white sores on his side and was missing part of his top fin :squigglemouth:. He was moving very slowly the first day and I was worried :squigglemouth: but by the time I was back home he looked great and lived!

So I picked up another nice anemone from my local fish store. This store has had the nicer bigger sized ones and his prices can't be beat! There is too much flow for the smaller nems in our tank as they seem to end up in the overflow..DOH! SO I try to get the bigger ones when we can find them!

The Clownfish immediately took to it! It was like Christmas for them! This orange and white made an immediately beeline for it!

I got this green speckly one from Golden Basket a few months ago but I was feeding it and letting it grow and get bigger in the frag tank. It actually so far has stayed right where I put it. 1smile1 It seems to like the flow where it is at and the Picassos are trying to host it!

So there you are! Still loving the tank. Sorry my pictures are not as good as Marvin's. I eventually would like to add a lemon drop and starburst nem to the tank!

Thanks for the update Kim. :)

You're welcome Marvin. You made me feel guilty :). By the way. I had had the vortechs off but now I only turn them off for a day or 2 if I add a new anemone. I am keeping other corals in my tank and was getting too much detritus and the zoas were more prone to getting infection. So now I have pretty good flow and the anemones stay more in the center.

Fts! Fts! Fts! Fts!!

Fts! Fts! Fts! Fts!!

:hammer::snicker: LOL Rev.... I was afraid someone was going to ask for a FTS. I have several magnetic frag racks in the tank right now that are blocking a good shot of the anemones right now... I'm thinking there may be a sale thread coming to a forum near you...

I'm trying to raise funds for a starburst anemone!

Because Rev asked!

I took some pictures yesterday. Here's a FTS. As you can see most of the larger anemones cluster in the center. The Vortechs are on full power now. The anemones spread out more with less flow but I was having cyano issues and the rest of the corals were not as happy. So far all the clowns are getting along well as there are plenty of anemones for everyone.

I can't do just one thing and have been wheeling and dealing to replenish my chalice collection. I'm sticking with mostly BTAS and staying away from the LTAs as I can still keep some things one the sand bed. It's getting a little crowded though!

The Picassos are still hosting the small rbta/green rbta

Anemone crabs are also a fun thing to add :

This nice RBTA with the green base cannot make up it's mind where it wants to be and has moved to the far left of the tank again. What is nice is some of the clownfish have followed it there so now they are more spread out again:

Mother's day update!

Here's some pictures I took today! Sadly the Picassos disappeared without a trace. I suspect the maxi mini was the culprit.. I will probably try to add some smaller ones later. Down to 8 clownfish now in the main tank 4 black and whites and 4 orange and whites.

New addition nice purple tip anemone! This one was wild caught and I had it sequestered and was directly feeding it to let it acclimate and settle and grow. I find better luck with that then putting them directly in the main tank

Yellow tang was feeling left out!

Everyone gets a long pretty well. What is nice is the anemones do not move around much and tend to stay clustered in the center so I can add more corals.

This are really crappy pictures plus I still need to get better lighting but had to get in on the action. :attention:

Plus these were taken last night after she got woke up from me trying to get a picture of her asleep upside down in her RBTA. Lol
