Clownfish Anemone Tank! Nemo Found!

Sorry to hear that. I have not lost a rbta to a powerhead but I did lose a long tentacle. I was told they don't move around as much as the rbtas but that's not true. I have a purple lta and green and those move around the most.
That is frustrating. I have read online about different tricks you can try to get them to host. I read somewhere just showing a picture of a clownfish hosting an anemone gets them to host. That sounded kinda silly to me but clownfish do tend to be copycats.

Here's a link to a post about it nicodim. Let me know if it works. It seems like such a silly thing and it would never work but clownfish are so quirky that I suppose anything is possible when it comes to clownfish.

It's officially week 3
It's officially week 3 of this project and so far so good!1smile1
I have to say this has reignited my passion for the hobby. No offense but the colored sticks and all the maintenance just didn't do it for me.:neutral: I took out my anemones when I had a lot of corals because they would sting them but I missed them so much.:smile:
As you can see I have other anemones. The purple LBTA can't make up it's mind where it wants to be and repeatedly roams around. The clowns have shown no interest in hosting this but I didn't expect they would. You can also see next to it one of the many maxi-minis we have.
One of the new anemones actually attached to a rock we wanted it too! I'm keeping my fingers crossed but I'm well aware it could move. Maybe I shouldn't let it know I like the spot it picked!:wink: The black and white clowns have shown an interest in this one.
The platinum still tries to bully the other clownfish from their nems but the black and white and orange and white ones are holding their ground. I'm calling her Bruiser now because she is the most aggressive one in the tank and is not happy with sharing the anemones! :bigsmile:
You can also see that the other fish in the tank are really not that interested in the clownfish or venturing too close to their anemones.
The Picassos have paired off since the second day and are staying in the first anemone they hosted. They have not ventured out of this one at all. The other platinum stays here too and this is the primary home of Bruiser when she is not trying to take over all the anemones.

awesome! always nice to read the updates. the Plats will be the aggressors for sure IME. kinda interested to see how everyone will get along in a few months since you have both perc and false percs together. I hope they all stay nice to each other.

Yes I'm watching them closely but I was told there is a good chance they will do fine with a lot of space and a lot of anemones. Fortunately clownfish are pretty easy to catch if there's any major problems. When I picked up these , the breeder also gave me this 10 year old male false perc for free who lost it's mate and I added him with a true percula that I had in a 29 biocube that had also lost his mate about a year ago and they paired off and are getting along fine.

Thanks! The money I made selling off all the colored sticks went towards paying for the anemones and clownfish! This tank has really reignited my passion for the hobby!

Oh sorry man. I was hoping the picture thing would work. Maybe if you take out the hammer colony they will have no choice but to host the anemones.

No wonder your clowns aren't hosting your nems, they have a nice hammer colony to host.You can kinda see it on this cell pic
