Haven't done an update in a while....
Swapped my CPR pellet reactor for a Phosban 150.
Swapped one of my Hydor wave makers for an Ice Cap
Swapped my old Jebao for an upgraded model, went from the 3000 to the 6000 model.
Livestock additions: Red sea star, McCoskers Wrasse, and a Diamond Goby who was hiding and I couldn't snag a pic of
Overall the tank is doing well, but ever since I moved the tank 4 hours to its new home, I've had a handful of PO4 spikes. My guess is the system just hasn't recovered it's losses from the move. I also made some adjustments that were both good and bad. I kept getting snails stuck in the intake of my return pump so i bought a guard insert, however this slowed my GPH turn over rate drastically. My socks took 3-4 days to get dirty, and while I thought my system was super clean, I later found out that my return pump was struggling which is why I replaced it with the upgraded model. With the new model I need to change my socks daily; will monitor nutrients to not strip the system.
I then treated the system with fluconazole to treat some stubborn bryopsis, terf, GHA who knows what. I made a stupid mistake of leaving my pellet reactor on while cutting back my skimmer. My pellet reactor also clumped, which is why I upgraded it, but running pellets essentially with no skimmer for 22 days did not end well. Many of my SPS colonies had major RTN, i did lose a few colonies in the process... live and learn.
More to come!
