I've been looking at the IM nuvo fusion 20 pro on Marine Depot for a few months now. The price was $254. I noticed yesterday that MD is having a black Friday 15% off sale. At the same time I saw the price of the fusion 20 shoot up to $299 so the NEW BLACK FRIDAY sale price is $254! What a deal right? People, make sure you are really getting a deal this black friday. I'm very disappointed that Marine Depot would do this to their customers.

It sounds like a Liquidation Sale :D 50% off inflated prices
FYI I see these tanks on sale everywhere, Good Luck

Disappointed with them as well. I use to almost exclusively shop with MD, but in the last few months I have bought a ton of gear, and all of that business went to BRS and Saltwater Aquarium, as MD shipping was slow, and I often got better pricing elsewhere....

There is a MAP on IM equipment.

If I had to wager on why now to increase the price. Most businesses this is Q1 or the very end of Q4. And yearly budgets had to drafted. So at IM there was probably a cost increase, be it tariffs, labor, materials, shipping costs, etc. I do not work work for them to say for sure; only that as a business owner internal cost savings only cover losses for so long, before your forced to raise prices on the consumer to cover losses.

Most likely IM increased their wholesale prices on select items to cover real or suspected gross profit losses, hence raising the MAP retail price at vendors. By IM also offering a 15% off black friday sale they are effectively delaying the sticker shock till after the sale ends. Where after the 15% ends the $299 will Be the new retail price. What products to increase and by how much was probably a very long boring meeting involving a lot of spread sheets at IM.

I agree with 99% of your response. I am not entitled to anything from these businesses, they owe me nothing. With that said I also owe them nothing so I have to call it like I see it. I'm just trying to alert the people to the Black Friday pricing games. The 1% of your response that I don't agree with is the part about you not giving a da*n about what I think I am entitled to. You time out of your day to respond and share a YouTube video! #SharingIsCaring

Don’t even reply to it. Your post was helpful and informative. Anyone taking issue with it either works for MD or just wants to stir things up.

That was just the first thing that came to mind, lol. I haven't seen any black friday deals that have stood out as something I gotta have. I think MAP has basically ruined it for all of us. Most of the big name companies stick to the same discount every single year so no surprise there.. #whocareswhatdinethinks...nobodythatswho

My apologies for singling out Marine Depot as this seems to be an Innovative Marine issue. It just seems shady that it happens when the Black Friday banners go up. Thanks for the clarification.

Yeah, it’s a MSRP thing. All retailers have the same.

If the manufacturer wants to 'up' its price right around the holidays-- so all the retailer can do is offer a "discount" back down to the original price and look BAD to its customers-- the retailer should choose from one of it's OTHER 10,000 items in stock and have a true sale on something. Public-relations-problem solved.

My gripe with MD is that they keep sending me emails with huge banners saying 15% off sitewide for Black Friday. At the very bottom, in a tiny font, there is a statement that some exclusions apply. If the ad simply said, 15% off on many items, or even most items, the ad would be reasonable. As it is currently written, I feel it is misleading...

I’ve had my eye on the IM fusion 20 for the past two-three months and price has always been $299 when did it go up? I had it in my cart on MarineDepot since September and it only dropped in price a week or so ago and we pulled the plug on it!
