Common Cuttlefish @ 20 days old

Yeah, Pygmy cuttlefish to stay very small. They can be kepted with none stinging corals that thrive in dirty water like leather and zoas

So would I be able to keep them within a sps set up? Cuz I would really like 1!

Also just wanted to know if it was kept in a set up with sting corals what would the out come be? I'm asking this question for information purpose only! Not only for myself but for anyone who was thinking off adding 1 in with sting corals!!!!!

So say I was gona get a dwarf cuttlefish (haven't ever seen 1 for sale local to me in the past 9 years of fish keeping) would I be able to keep that in a tank with fish Init? Or will I need another set up! If I would need another set up could u please explain why! (Eating habits, being the pray or evening praying on their fish etc) thank you

That was a very unique find ! very cool animals indeed. So they hatched from their cases ready to eat small pods and such? And the color changes are awesome ! Did the entire cluster of eggs hatch ?

You would not be able to keep them with SPS because they are VERY messy eaters and it of impossible to keep the water quilts clean enough with these animals for SPS.
Cuttlefish like to "sit" on the rocks and sand and if they hit a stinging coral, they would get stung :p. I guess you could maybe do it but it is not the best for the animals because they are very special skin and it is not good for it to get stung.

Thanks for the information! As cool as they are I think my adventure for cuttlefish stops here unless I set up another tank!

I wouldn't recommend keep smoke with fish because they will either try to eat it or they will be very intimidated by it. You have to keep cuttlefish by themselves or with eachother. They fish also might think or the cuttlefish as food and the cuttlefish will have to defend itself and injure or possible kill the fish. Cuttlefish have to be kept alone or with each other. You may find some exceptions but those people have had a lot of experience with cuttlefish before and know what to do. You can keep ones wart cuttlefish in a 20 gallon. It is good for the tank to be tall because for some reason cuttlefish like having water over them. You could keep 2 in a 29 but cuttlefish can be tricky because they are hard to determine weather it is a boy or girl. If you do get a boy and a girl they will mate and you could raise the eegs. If you get 2 boys they will end up fighting and one will most likely get killed. For someone who has never kepted a cuttlefish, I would recommend one in a 29 because it would be easier to keep the water quality stable.
Hope this helps!!

Pretty much. I have always wanted one but my parents won't let me get another tank (I am in middle school :p)

Yes, they are related to the octopus. These guys are very smart as well. They are almost like dogs. They will beg for food and they recognize you when you walk in the room.

I released five a few days ago, they getting so big. Thought I would run two on for a while longer, they are nearly 3 inches and just over two months old now. Hopefully the others will be fine and make it to adulthood.

I call this one Zoidberg, dangerous to name them but he so looks like the character, specially when he changes to a deep burgundy colour.

Just have the two now which get on very well, might be a pair. They are really tame....mayb too tame.
