Common Cuttlefish @ 20 days old

I love everything about what's happening here! Thanks for the continued updates as I really look forward to seeing these little guys grow!

Too cool. I have always been fascinated by cuttlefish. That's an amazing opportunity to get to raise some from hatchlings, dropped from the heavens no less! The aquarium in Tampa used to have a large display tank with some adult cuttlefish in it. It was amazing to watch their light/color/texture shows that they can put on. Very impressive, intelligent beings! Keep us updated on their progress!

Thanks guys!

I am officially a cuttle-mummy lol.

It has not been easy (but when is parenting ever!) I was purchasing 100s of mysid every week to start and the shops were running out,so they are quite literally worth their weight in gold....or diamonds! But it is getting easier now they are on crabs, just got to pop down to beach every single day and lift rocks till I find enough. But certainly been worth it, the feeding been the hardest part as they are pretty hardy creatures. Can't wait till they take dead foods!

You are all probably getting bored of cuttlefish, but I just can't help myself! Lol

Going to be a few more weeks I think maybe a month before release. They are very good at hunting now and as I been giving them native prey so hopefully they will have a good chance of surviving in the big blue.

Wow stunning! Any of you guys think these could be kept in a mixed reef? With medium/large fish?
They are best kept alone. They will try to eat any fish they can grab. They will also eat almost any invert. They are very dirty eaters so only softies and LPS can be kepted with them. I wouldn't recommend it. This species also gets kinda big.

I was reading on the earlier on and found there are actually 2 species of of the growing to 1-2ft the other 1 staying about 8cm max! It would be nice if they were reef safe [emoji22]

Yeah, Pygmy cuttlefish to stay very small. They can be kepted with none stinging corals that thrive in dirty water like leather and zoas

I'm sure it'll be bitter sweet come the day you release them. Until then, keep the updates coming as a lot of us clearly look forward to them. Keep up the great work!
