Thanks. I found him yesterday in a burrow that my pearly jawfish ditched a week ago. I just hope he becomes more social. I would like to see him out around my water column so I could see those colors. All is well though, I fed them vitamin enriched Mysis yesterday and everyone ate fine!

he will come out and the personality will also, when i squat down to look at my tank the gramma will dart to the side im on and just square up right in my face.

Yea he already is out and about. I can't tank this post enough for talking about the Royal Gramma, because I wanted one originally but then got turned off by them for a reason I dont remember. I can already tell this will be a great fish. Its perfectly fine (Mysis). What is your feeding schedule like? Also, what do you feed? I've read to feed twice a day, some say once a day. I have formula 1 flakes and pellets. I soak mysis shrimp in selcon every other day for them. The only one that seems to eat the flakes or pellets is the clown, everyone else wants nothing to do with them. Should I buy more meaty foods and mix it up?

i have corals, nems, fish, & inverts so i feed a myriad of foods. i usuall have frozen PE mysis, Emerald entree, Reef Caviar, Cyclopeze, brine (rarely), krill all in the freezer. i also have formula 1 pellets, ocean nutrition green algae sheets, coral vibrance, coral frenzy, and i also will put a couple drops of kent Garlic, or selcon vits. every couple of days. i change it up a bit i usually do a cube of the frozen during the day and the coral food i spot feed every couple days (at night fo corals). i do sometimes feed twice a day depending on what im feeding.

I've been thinking of combining mysis with brine and some garlic..but with the fish I have I don't think I really need to supplement herbivore food.

brine is just a filler and does not really offer much for nutrition. I would be careful using garlic too often. I think most people use it when they think a fish is sick or just to help get them to start eating. Using it too often can lead to other issues, I will see if i can find the article.

Do you think I should feed them twice a day? I tried doing flakes every other day and mysis every other day but as I said , only the clown actually has interest in the flakes so im not sure how to give more nutrition to the other fish who wont eat flakes /pellets which is why I started soaking mysis in selcon. Also if I should feed twice a day I will have to buy an auto feeder for the daytime because I work fulltime.

one thing i do is i use the little medicine cups (unused) and put the cube in it with some tank water, i let it sit for a few min and melt then stir it up and pour half in and freeze the rest and put that in the tank when i get home from work just about 30 min to and hour before moon lights kick on. you can still feed half doses of flake for the fish that will eat it twice or you can soak those with the mysis as well. rockadile is correct on the brine, equivalent to fish potato chips, filler not really any nutrition thats why i put rarely next to that, i usually only use it if i run out of everything else (which is rare). also with fish you wont need the herbivore foods (unless you decide to get tangs or something similar in the future) i just use it for my CUC pretty much when im low on algae. i feel you on the full time thing i work full time and have school so its kinda c rappy for me cause i rarely have time to really enjoy my tank, currently. i have black out shade in the room my tank is in so they are completely dependant on the lighting sch. i give them vs having it in a room where sun light gets in and wakes the tank weather you want it or not. sorry for the long response i have been swamped w/ work and school so i havent had time to keep up w/ the responses

I appreciate the info. I just purchased the Rods Food herbivore blend. I fed them and they all seemed to enjoy it including the Skunk Cleaner Shrimp. I'm glad because it has some greens in it too so that will keep them nice and healthy. I will still look into buying an auto feeder for flakes/pellets.
