Many things can be poisonous with boiling and inhaling. Kinda dumb that this is newsworthy. The news should be more focused on the user stupidity aspect. Such as why would anyone boil a bunch of unknown fauna indoors? It would be more beneficial to educate people on not boiling and inhaling unknown fumes than focusing all the attention on what it was that was toxic.... he will probably go and burn a bunch of paint and plastic indoors next then what blame the paint for the next ER visit?

Well, I see what you are saying but I disagree that this isn't newsworthy let alone a user stupidity warp factor 10. Trust me, this is difficult to type because I'm a pretty strong believer of thinning the herd. In this case user stupid != ignorance. Those are two different things and I think we should take a step back and look at the bigger picture. You actually allude to it with regards to education (I agree). The issue is some people, probably all of us have been guilty at one time or another, fail to connect the dots on simple things like pruning, propagation, or general tank husbandry like water changes and what the possibility of some corals and rocks - tank stuff in general, might or could expose.
Then factor in a family who may have a member with a weaker immune system, allergies, or asthma and they too could be on the news. I personally would hate to be that parent that didn't think about a possible reaction when the Xenia or zoa's on the back wall of my tank are exposed during a water change. Or me removing a Kenya Tree or two or three and what that might do. In fact my better half is a RN/Nurse in the PICU. Lots of residents there of course. Recently one of the Docs passed her and said hey - I seem to recall your husband is a salt water guy and a diver, right. She said yes, he is. He then said - hey, doesn't a family member have asthma? She again replies yes. They chit chat a bit and then at dinner time it comes up. Why haven't you told me about this....and I reply I'm aware and limit exposure, windows are open, and I wear a mask. If so and so is near, we all wear masks.
Needless to say it brings awareness if we remove the no news or stupid factor. I now know without a doubt, because of the news stories, one of the number one trauma centers in my area is aware of possible symptoms caused by saltwater hobbyist. Even though it did cause a conversation with my family around safety and the possibility of taking it down. That conversation happened. Hopefully others have similar or make them aware.
Of course your mileage may vary but just how I see it (and believe you me, I detest watching any form of news let alone read about it for many reasons - none of which matter here).
