Crabs 155g In-Wall Fish Room Build

Corals look happy! Great collection so far!

Thank you! I'm just happy everyone is happy. Tank is still going through the new tank uglies and nutrients are attempting to be problematic; however, I'm keeping on top of it with rigorous testing. So far so good.

You got it covered. We ALL get the 1st year uglies so just ride it out and it'll be fantastic in the end. Patience truly is rewarded in this hobby as well as diligence. Looks like you have plenty of both!

Plenty of experiences and leanings to beat patience and diligence into my head. :D

Yeah, I have been thinking hard about this one. @FarmerTy 's thread on potentially switching up his lights is giving me thoughts on adding some pop.. (Thanks Ty... haha)

For now, I think what I am going to do is pickup an Apex LSM for moon cycle (because I'm techy and think it is really neat to be able to do this) and for the two kits I purchased which are two separate drivers and 4-3W Blue LEDs each, I'll get those mounted up as my "Pop of color channel" and run it occassionally when viewing the tank in the evening.

Otherwise, I am truly happy with my 6-bulb Sunpower. Maybe one day I'll strike on an 8-bulb so I can run two actinics in addition, but for now I am a happy camper.

I was wondering how wide you 6 bulb sunpower is?

I can get an exact measurement for you when I get home but it is around 48" x 14"

Edit: 47" x 13.4" x 2.1" according to BRS.

New updates! Finally.. I have been really slacking on one recently.

Main display had the following fish added:
  • Midas blenny (Ecsenius midas)

  • Three zebra barred dartfish (Ptereleotris zebra)
  • Royal Gramma Basslet (Gramma loreto)
  • Cardinalfish (Pterapogon kauderni)
They joined the two Grade-A Davinci Clownfish added when the tank initially "stabilized" along with a small CUC including a Sea Hare.

Along with fish, I have also added quite a few SPS frags to get my collection started. Current list:

  • Reefraft AppleJack
  • Bubblegum Millipora
  • Green Unknown Millipora

Care to share some shots of the fish room? I saw all your QT and hospital tanks purchased but not where they have landed. Awesome build and thoroughly going to enjoy watching the tank progress.

You would make me clean my fish room [emoji23]

I'll get some up this week for sure. Lots of wedding stuff the next few days but will work on it after that!

Please excuse the mess and lack of cable/tube management. It is functional [emoji4]

Sweet leopard wrasse...are they eating?
All three are eating frozen. Moved them over from brine shrimp.

The cyclopeeze also helped as I mixed it into my frozen mix

Expanded my collection. Here is a few of the stunners I have coloring up. A lot more work to do but they are starting to show their potential!

The above pictures were taken with an EOS Rebel T6i with the standard lens and an Avast Marine porthole. I'm pleasantly surprised and will likely begin looking for a Marco lens to start shooting some more detailed pictures!

Anyone else crazy like me and keep a catalog of corals they purchase and their progress?

Name, Purchased from, date of purchase, cost, "stock picture", then progressive pictures.
