d2mini's "Essential Focus" Mixed Reef Build

Looks like everything is coming along nicely. I know you mentioned it but I get worn out searching through 28 pages. What salt are you currently using? If I remember right, you said you switched to a new one for the Triton method?

Dennis, when I used TM I had to dose alk, are you? I use kalk. I loved the salt. In fact I like better than Red SEA CP, a lot better. Are you dosing 2 part?

This is a Triton Method tank so i'm dosing the Triton Base Elements.
I've never in my life had a reef tank that didn't need dosing. No matter the salt used. Water changes don't keep up, and with Triton you don't even do water changes.
I've had to do some huge water changes though to try and correct a few parameters and even still, my Alk will still drop an average of .2 dkh per day.
And I only have a few coral so far.

9 day refugium progress....
It's gettin ugly. :D

And here it is today... (i added a little extra halimeda and some codium)

Been doing some water changes to get my high magnesium (bad batch of salt) down, as well as my high extremely high p04.
Started out around 1.3 ppm p04 and down to .3 now.

Apologies if I missed it earlier - why do you think your PO4 was so high?

New FTS below.

Also, note that fat gorgonian on the left next to my huge Turbinaria Cup Coral.
The tallest branch towards the left appears to have a missing chunk. It lost some flesh after the trip from TBS and transition into my tank. That 1" section was a bare branch/skeleton a few days ago. It's now fully covered in flesh again. Pretty cool! Watching to see if another branch is recovering as well. Been dosing Phyto daily.

Beautiful work !!!

Any new FTS?

I've had a lot of questions about the Elos Quiet Drain.
So here's a video that attempts to show just how quiet this overflow is.
What's impressive is how an overflow this small can flow this much water and remain silent.
Video is recorded in 1080p via my Nikon D750.

hahahaha, yeah almost seems that way. ;)

When DIESEL was over for inspection last time, we could barely talk because of ALL MY EQUIPMENT NOISEEEEEEEE, lol.
Need to work on my noise level which is quite annoying.
Ordered xpenive low noise fans for my Light fixtures and Cooling fans, as well as removed anti syphon holes in the return lines and left sufficient rundown volume.

It's nice to have a silent tank.

Wow it really is very quiet!

Dennis thanks for the video. Love the Elos tank the 120xl is on the list of tanks for my future upgrade. [emoji3]
