Here are some pics of the first corals in the tank.

Rasta zoas and 1 Sunny Dee Paly from the Reef Raft USA live sale.

First, the receipts:

Since these came from a R2R sponsor, they only count for half their dollar value so... I spent $12.50 out of my coral limit.

Here they are in the tank. I am trying to add all of my coral frags without their plugs by gluing them to the rock. I think it looks more natural. (How many of us have seen frag plugs on a dive??)

Here's a pic with the blue spot ignoring them completely. I had just fed him some of Larry's Reef Frenzy, so he's hoping for more.

There'll be lots more coral added as we go. I figure I don't want to add it all at once. ...builds up the suspense...but I promised a reef that will glow...and glow it will. :wink:

I've got lots more from the live sale. I bought 17 pieces in all! Also have some coming from the Joe Knows Reefs sale and some I'm getting from Mike at Sexy Corals...not to mention a few others from here and there...and one piece in particular that I got from you that glows BEAUTIFULLY!

I wasn't sure whether to add them or not, but these guys light up like embers under the blue lights.

Since I paid $9.50 and he's a R2R sponsor, that comes to $4.75 for the paly.

My total coral budget so far: $17.25

I installed a Y-splitter loc-line with 2 Hydor FLO rotating water deflectors in order to help create random flow. So far my zoas seem to like it quite well.

Other than scaring my blue spot pretty bad because I dropped a Tonga branch near his home, the install wasn't too complicated. The blue spot (we're calling him "Spot"...I know...I know...not very original) came out pretty quickly after I was done to inspect the install...he looks like he approves.

CORAL ADDITION!!!

Here is a coral that I picked up from Andy (spspirate) a while back. It's a raptor's peace favia. The FMV for favias is $25 per 1.5", and this guy doesn't measure a full 1.5". So...I think it's worth $25 in my coral budget. (Can someone on Team R2R confirm that I'm doing this right?)

This means that so far I've used $42.25.

Here he is in the tank. Put this guy under blue LEDs and he glows!!! The purple and green show up amazingly!

I'll be posting another update a little later on tonight...another addition to my 14 gallon piece of the ocean...
