Dont keep your cleaners/scapers in the tank when not in use. It's nice and convenient but it will let all kinds of things grow on it. And that is what ends up scratching the glass.. Almost every time I see this issue I make the assumption that the magfloat, or whatever has been left in the tank while not in use. But you know what they say about assumptions. I remove my flipper/mag/scrapper out and rinse it off quickly and stick it to the side of my fridge. I've scratched my share of glass over the years.

Oh, I got my tunze today and it is most impressive! It came right before I had to leave for work and I was able to look at the directions (but not read them because mine didn't come with any English instructions lol, but its very self explanatory) and scrape off the past few days accumulation, plus everything the magfloat couldn't get, and still made it to work on time. I'm kind of upset that it took so little time to clean the glass because now I will have to wait to play with it again haha! And I didn't even get to try out the metal blade! It also cleaned the fingerprints and streaks off the outside of the glass as well.
