Do you only feed freshwater feeders? There's an article that says that's bad. Let me dig up the article for you...

I feed mostly shrimp and convict with the occasional Rosie. The reason feeder fish like goldfish are not good is thiamin and the abundance they have. Anything you feed anglers it's recommended to gut load them on vegetable matter/spirulina. Another reason is the parasites that goldfish can carry. Feeding anglers is different than others fish due to the long period of time it's reccomended to wait between feelings due to them getting bloat

Goldfish is not a good feeder no matter saltwater or freshwater. The article also shows the feeding for other fish and not a angler, when I researched anglers they breakdown they do of food is that similar of a animal hibernating. They slowly break it down and store all the good nutrition and excrete the bad to help them cope with the long periods of time they can go without eating

No problem, if I feed shrimp I'll feed him twice a week. When I feed fish I usually only feed once a week unless it's really small than I'll feed twice. This allows him to still hunt and not get use to food coming at the same time.

How many do you feed? Do you just put the fish/shrimp in the tank? Sorry for all the questions, I just want to make sure one is right for me.

I only feed 1-2 shrimp or 1 fish per feeding. They are live foods so I just release them and let him hunt and lure them. It's rather fun to watch him sneak up on them or lure them. Ask as much as you want and I'll help all I can

Thanks a lot! So the freshwater fish don't die or show any stress (that would discourage the frogfish from eating) after being put into the tank?

No the fish will usually last a while but it never takes more that a minute for him to get them. I actually got mine from a pet store while we were on vacation. They did not order him he just got mixed up in a order and they ended up with him so they sold it to me for $30. I usually see them on liveaquaria often and they go for $59-100

A all white pic and a regular pic. This tank has changed, I'm slowly removing shrooms to my other shroom tank and replacing them with hammers and frogspawns
