This is what happens when politicians attempt to override the cycles of nature. Why not work with the cycles of nature. I would propose that on the Vernal (Spring) and Autumnal (Fall) Equinox's, when the equator is closest to the sun and the sun is at its highest point, that would be noon. Then the varying light levels would be evenly split between dawn and dusk. Just my opinion.;Meh

Im sorry BUT for once, can this country leave SOMETHING ALONE ????
In My area, in One day due to it getting darker early, there were ELEVEN Deer vs. car collisions. This early dark is unsafe and with potential snow and ice will continue to be due to early darkness and freezing.
Time to worry about our nations deficit than our sleep. . .LOL

I love it. In summer time it's daylight here until almost 10pm. In winter it gets dark early, but at least it's light early in the morning.

Well DST was started by some guy in Australia so he could have more time to view bugs after work (summer time). A few years later I think it was around 1906, Europe (Germany I think) made the move to make it standard. During the energy crisis in the US they made it official to help save cost on running electricity (lights). Regardless, I understand the concept, that doesn’t mean if I had a chance that I wouldn’t throat punch that bug guy. I live in Alaska...do I need to explain how pointless this is?...

DLST might be one of the dumbest things we have invented.
But does give me an extra hour of daylight in the morning to walk my goldfish.

Luckily someone invented something in case the water sloshes out and i need to keep my feet dry.

This would require an almost infinite number of time zones. That would be very interesting.

One could think of it that way, but since we already have multiple time zones, noon could be set at GMT and the existing time zones used from there on. Would it be absolutely perfect for every inch on earth? No. But at least it would eliminate these insane time shifts, differences on who does or does not observe DST, and puts daylight more back in line with nature.

Sorry for all of you. I now live in AZ and we just leave the clocks alone. Half the year (now) we are on mountain time, the other half we are on pacific time. Last year I noticed my pool controller was off by an hour, so I went in using the app for it and adjusted the time and turned off the dst setting. Boom my pool controller went wacko. I tried turning the dst setting back on. Nope still wasn’t working. Turns out there was a bug in the app software that nobody tested for. Pool company and to do a complete reset and firmware update. Lol just say no to changing the clocks.

I hate it it screws up my biological clock for about a month and I hate it getting dark so early in winter.

my fish are unaware of the time change ... i now feed all the tanks an hour earlier lol. didn’t mean to accommodate them that way tbh.

the dogs are probably wondering about my getting around to their dinnertime later though.
