I'm 15 and my first ever DIY project (reef tank or not) was my sump. I just used an empty 10 gallon, scissors, silicone and a 50 gallon rubbermaid bin. I cut baffles using the rubbermaids plastic and siliconed them down. Since then I have obviously fixed it up and used plexiglass instead and pretty soon will be upgrading my 46 to a 20 gallon tall sump.
I will definitely post pictres so if you don't have a sump by then you can look at mine for inspiration and I would be more than happy to help explain in detail if you decide to go the DIY route![]()
I appreciate that! I've done numerous sumps myself in the past but that was only siliconing in the glass baffles pieces. I want my next sump(and tank) to look as neat as possible and I'm not the neatest of people hahaha
