I have a 600i from BattleCorals, it's been trouble free. It is almost silent, works great, and is very consistent.
How many inches of water do you run your 600i, do you dial the waterline on the tube below the blackline, and what power? I'm having a hard time dialing this skimmer in.

Mine is in 8" of water (probably 8 1/4") and I'm running it on the 5th led setting power-wise. Make sure the tubes are oriented properly (I thing they face each other or whatever the directions say?). I adjusted the output until the bubbles are breaking at the bayonet joint. The water level in the output tube is probably an inch or so below the lowest part of the opening.

It looks like the suggest water height is the same for the 600i and 1000i
I'm at day 21 with my new skimmer.
I have the 600i running in 7.125" water, power 2 and 2.5" down from the top of the tube. I'll try 8" of water next.

Perhaps I need to turn that pipe a 1/4 turn so they face each other. The directions say "turn the drain inwards." Here's a picture of my tubes before I turn it a tiny.

That looks correct. The safety (overflow) tube should face the other tube, so the cutout/short side is facing the adjustment/level tube. If that makes sense? I would use 8" and increase it to 4 or maybe 5, then dial back the output tube so the bubbles are breaking just under the neck (clear portion above the bayonet). I'll try to take of pic of mine for reference.

I think we have lift off. Thank you! I played with the height the skimmer was in a bunch back during the break in but 8" now is looking good with power at 4. I'll report back tomorrow with a picture.

Last night I noticed it was running wetter than I wanted so I lowered the power to 3. I'm going to clean the cup so I can see the concentration better on it's next filling.

If it's running wetter, just open the output tube a little more. Keep those strong bubbles rollin'
Only problem I screwed the output open till where it didn't make it any dryer that's why I bounced back to power at 3 then readjusted the screw downward. Maybe the skimmer is still breaking in or something. Deltec said they take 30 days to break in.

I brought the skimmer stand up a little I'll try this. Water 7 7/8", power 4 and 2 1/8" down from the top of the water level pipe.

I find that skimmers break in rapidly, but my tanks tend to have a surplus of organics, each is different.
That's what the problem is, lack of nutrients. I had doubled down on filtration after getting hair algae. That's gone and I've been getting p04 and n03 back up.
I thought this skimmer being a smaller diameter than my last would have been a good fit but 400i would've been better. After watching BRS video, it helped me identify that boiling water the quickly goes up and pops is a sign of not enough organics. I'll take a peak tomorrow at the skimate but I'm running it dry as possible in 6.5" of water and power 3. This might be the fix for too big of a skimmer.

Just run it at night to help balance out the pH swings and that should allow some organics to build up slowly during the day. I have a heavy feeding hand, so mine is always pulling crap out. Also, but be afraid to feed more throughout the day if you can?

Oh yeah I have Anthias so I'm always feeding . Turning off during the day isn't a bad plan. I just got some Sera sprulina algae tabs that seem to be helping get the p04 up.

I just switched out my Nyos 120 for a Deltec 600i. The Deltech is much quiter, easier to adjust and pulls out more more crap than the nyos.
Yea, I'm hooked it's the best skimmer I've used. I might try to downsize and get a 400i as this 600i may be a bit too powerful for my 100g setup. How many gallons is your tank?

Just giving my 2cts here:
I got the 600i for my tank when i started a year ago, i ran it for 2 months and then decided to swap it out for an ARKA Core. The difference in sound is HUGE. The deltec was the loudest thing in my system, now i barely hear anything when the cabinet is closed.

Another downside for the deltec: it needs a lot of cleaning to keep it running efficient.
The plates in the bottom that pass the water to the outlet tube get clogged easily with detritus. They require complete disassembly of the the skimmer to clean them.
