Dimmable or Non-dimmable

That's funny. I'm looking for the answer and so far that light is calling me but I'm leary. Plus I told my wife it's $900 just a little white lie [emoji83]. Also told her I would sale my two radions but I'm thinking I could use them. lol.

That's one heck of a white lie... If only our women knew what we really spend on this hobby Oh boy not good lol

Tell me about it. I hate when other reefers come over and say that's expensive, cost this....I'm like shhh

After reading through this thread, definitely get a 6 bulb dimmable ATI with the ReefBrites. As @Sabellafella said, you can't go wrong with that combo. It's dimmable, won't kill your SPS in your foray into them, and it's worth the extra $70 over the 4 bulb. That option is just a plug and play, dimmable worth the extra $90 or so. There is a 4 inch difference in width, 4 bulb is 9" wide and 6 bulb is 13" wide, plenty of room and you can get the Reefbrites add on.
As another option, ReefBrite sells a T5/LED combo that looks pretty cool. It's only two bulbs though, but apparently incredible output on them. Don't know the wattage of the bulbs, but as I recall, Joy from ReefBrite said it was HO.

The price on the 36" is only $140-$150 I think, without the bulbs, and without the XHO LED (that will significantly increase the cost). Just an option.
If it were me, I'd still go with the ATI 6 bulb dimmable though. Then you could add an actinic if you wanted and still have plenty of PAR.

Yea i have decided to go with 6 bulb dimmable... Going to see if anyone on here is selling one or going to see the ATI second hand factory... Then if not I'll go buy a new one

@saltyfilmfolks I am planning on doing what you were talking about with a current Orbit LED strip and a t5 fixture. I wanted to know how you had your LED strip positioned i.e. attached to the t5 fixture, on the tank flat, on the front part of the tank popinting towqards the back? I am in the middle of a 72 bowfront build. I already own the Current LED and a 6 bukd 48" t5 fixture.

I have a canopy and retro fit. It fits right in the middle on mine.
But the light from the led is not direct , its a wash and goes every where. so play with it and it sould be of front or back. Back may give more shadows.
