I was acually going to do a write up on ati dimmable with the use of carbon/uv bulb temp. Bulb breakin and combo. I got my girl writin everything down for me but this fixture is 32 inches from the sandbed. I got my lfs to lend me a par meter every month for this and im almost ready, youd be supprised, after 2 months i have to drop my fixure 3 inches to keep up with the par

on the low new user(and NO ONE IN SD seems to have a par meter:mad:) I recommend a lux meter. same reason.

cool thanks.
thats a nice spread.
Yea is funny because you getthe best par all the way down rite were the fans are, also i love lps so i left the sides shy 5 inches to account for some shrooms nd lowlight stuff but yea as long as your fixture is somewhat close to the dimensions of your tank and 30 inches down your good to go

yea light reflects. black sand looks cool but its a par sucker.
This is also why t5 kicks but over kessel ai radion style. you need more for coverage. and having a 48in or more tank your looking as some serious cash.

I sold my radions last year because i won 3 kessils. Dont get me wrong leds are sweet but they are too dangerous for me man, stuff starts bleaching for me and itll take me a long time to learn, i acually tryd a lux meter for the first time just for the heck if it a few weeks back and the difference in intensity and spread with t5s is just crazy, if i were to put an sps over 300 par rite away under leds it would bleach, atleadt t5s i dont have to acclimate much under the 400 range. Mhs you could bake stuff past 600 without a problem. The ati hybrid is awesome but its a pretty penny so i just went with the reefbrite addon

yea the lux meter and a dimmer is nice for acclimation, drop it to a number and bring it back up to that number. really its a week maybe 2. like stormy weather in hawaii IMO. (I stole that from D Riddle BTW)

Par is a trip though. Mt new t5s are close the same lux intensity, and I acclimated, and the corals loved it, I did however light shock the corraline. hows that for weird.
I only wasted 2 hours checking params and looking for pennies. lol

I'm leaning on getting a Giesemann Aurora but I'm wondering if I would be the only one in USA to have one due to lack of reviews. One cord sick looking...hmm should I pull the trigger or not?

Aurora is a sweet hybrid led t5 setup. ATI also has one called Powermodule but I hat the bare aluminum non powder coated factor.

If it wasn't so expensive I would totally get it

bragging rights. and all youd have to do is look folks in the eye and say I have a Giesemann Aurora. And watch the panic fear and confusion spread as they began to faint.
or offer to bring frags to see it in person:D
