I've been dealing with dinos the past couple weeks and I'm wondering how long can I shut the lights off without the corals being affected? Will this kill the dinos or will they just come back?

Light out doesn't kill them. They may just go to the water or the sand depending what type it is.I've been dealing with dinos the past couple weeks and I'm wondering how long can I shut the lights off without the corals being affected? Will this kill the dinos or will they just come back?
For me I have been Dino free for a couple months now. The blackout and h202 was the only thing that worked. 4 days was fine with blackout. Fish seemed to have it that hardest after the blackout. It took them a couple days to get back to normal. I also reduced my lights from 80% to 40%. Increased them by 5% every day. I also run Iv 24/7, always have, and I’m sure that helped. I didn’t lose any coral to the blackout.Light out doesn't kill them. They may just go to the water or the sand depending what type it is.
UV kills some type
Silica dosing other type
Nitrate / phosphate levels has to be non 0
Do you have a microscope picture of them to ID it?
As per light out I wouldn't go more than 3 days
I will be getting a microscope in a couple of days, I will try to share photosLight out doesn't kill them. They may just go to the water or the sand depending what type it is.

I typically have nitrate between 10-20 I just got a new filter for phosphate so that probably bottomed it outI will be getting a microscope in a couple of days, I will try to share photos
How much peroxide did you use? How big is your tank? And you run what 24/7?For me I have been Dino free for a couple months now. I keep forgetting to buy a phosphate tester ugh I definitely need to get oneMany people will do 3 days. This isn’t a cure it will just help with the fight. I’ve been in the same boat did a blackout along with raising nutrients and it started to go away keep nutrients at 2-3 nitrate and .03 phos. For some reason they bottomed out and came back heavy working on keep nutrients up again.
1ml/ gal of h202, 220g, and UV.... sorry auto correct lol.How much peroxide did you use? How big is your tank? And you run what 24/7?
Do this:I'm battling them again for the third time. I vacuumed the sand bed - guess I pulled too many nutrients out. Blackout for 3 days again and then we'll see what happens...they always seem to come back when my nitrates drop to around 5ppm and phosphates are .03ppm. Also going to feed every day to try and increase nutrients again.
Wishing you luck!
I do have light dependent coral. Running an AI Prime HD. Keep UV on as well? How long should I run them at 15% during the day? 4 hours-6hours?Do this:
First- Check phosphates and nitrates to assure theyre not elevated.
Here is full program:
Prepare by starting with a water change and blow this stuff loose with a turkey baster and siphon up loose particles.
Turn lights off (at least white and run blue at 10-15%) for 5 days and at night dose 1ml of hydrogen peroxide per 10 gallons for all 5 nights. If you dont have light dependent coral- turn all lights off.
During the day dose 1ml of liquid bacteria (such as bacter 7) per 10 gallons.
Clean filters daily and DO NOT FEED CORAL FOODS OR ADD NOPOX as it is food for dinos.
Day 5,, you can start with blue lights - ramping up and work your white lights up slowly
Any thoughts on the lighting? Looks like a colony of Zoa might not make it :/Do this:

My main tank has defeated the dinos with the original blackout, but frag tank has them again. Installed uv sterilizer 2 days ago not seeing much difference so I'm starting blackout today.any luck Jily?
