Dirty tank!!

@saltyfilmfolks @TheAsian0328 if you havent seen the macna i belive it was presentation on light flow and alkalinty should give it a view. It opened my eyes to a whole new world of things to look into when finding optimal levels for my way of reefing.
I was IN THE ROOM BRO!!!!:D:D:D:D:D:D You should have heard the discussion afterwards.

I will say his Par goals do come into question by many many many folks, (scientists) and hobbyists. But yea big fan for years of D Riddle, in fact he taught me lux of the aquarium. Google him.

As soon as i saw your post on another thread realized you are in California should have known you were there you luck bugger! And i have read and watched as much from him as i can find! Amazing scientist and hobbyist.

All science from my point of view needs to be seen as a tool not a solve all. So i can only imagine the critics and skeptics of his statistics. Nonetheless always a great read!

not critics, but skepticism(see rich ross) is a good thing. Dana Presents a data point. science uses data to progress, some data contradicts other data. so new study is required. That was part of the discussion after the talk.
SO he presented his data for others (scientists actually not newbs like me) to discuss.

puking.;) happens on acclimation sometimes. Imo keep an eye on that paly while it colors up. some of em spread like crazy.
nice stuff.

He was a deep green in the store. I love how big he is when he's completely open. Paid $7 for the conch, $8 for the mushroom and $5 for the paly.
not bad prices for a lfs.

One of our lfs has some of the same cloves I have yesterday. using their math my cloves are worth $300.

I have 2 osc clowns 1 Bangaii cardinal 1 skunk cleaner shrimp, some hermets and snails.

Kenya tree (sm)
pulsing Xenia (sm)
Zoanthids (sm)

Now before anyone says I stocked too much too soon, I started this tank with real sea water, live sand, and all live rock. The live rock was transferred from the store to the tank underwater (to help with any die off). I tested it daily for a month and a half. Never registered any nitrates. Tested with multiple test kits.

I had a very tiny cycle if any. However my rocks are clean (that I can tell) The glass and sandbed are filthy. Cyano and diatoms I'm guessing.

But all of the fish seem to be happy. My clowns were the same size when I got them about a month ago, and one has already become female and grown a lot. The Bangaii from I can tell is female. Haven't had any issues between the fish. The skunk cleaner shrimp is my favorite. His personality is awesome. He is never shy and loves to be watched. I can't stick my hand in the tank without him lunging from the other side of the tank to my hand. I've had him the longest.

Here's a few pics with different lighting

Both blue and white

Hows the flow in Your tank .. what lights have you got in there ??

Flow is decent. Stock Biocube pump. Koralia nano powerhead. And stock lighting for the Coralife Biocube

theres some Proto palythoa that can be easily Id'ed as REALLY rapid growers. for those I put em on their own rock or one thats easy to move.

I hope I have those haha. I want all of my coral to take off. I hate buying $5 frags but it's hard for me to want to spend much more on coral. My lfs has a great selection on hammers and frogspawn I want bad! $25 a piece :/
