I frequent, enjoy and contribute to both places, been an RC member as LQT since 2003. I'll probably get flamed for this, but for whatever reason, like clockwork, there seems to be a monthly thread that devolves into "let's talk smack about RC" here ...

I started researching on RC first and found much of what has been stated already very true. My biggest beef (lol) was new folks couldn't see the classifieds. That makes zero sense. I would have thought you wanted people buying members used stuff to get them deeper in the hobby and hence more active on the forums. I PMd a mod got a bs reply and never went back. I really like it here. There are some super nice people.

I started this threat from the curiosity of the link censored and their complicated image uploading process. Talk crap aboir RC wasnt my motive

"Seems" appears to be the key word, I am sorry but this is simply not correct. Each forum has it's place and every member has a preference and this is respected.

This is the first I've seen. But if what you say is the case, must be a reason for it. People just sharing their experiences.

I visit both and like both. I see great information on both and I see misinformation on both. There are bad nuts in every bag and I've never found a forum that doesn't fit that mold.

I have close to 8000 posts on RC and been given ROTM (reefer of the month) twice. So maybe I'm part of "problem" over there?

PS - ROTM isn't anything special or cool. They have given that out to a few jacka$$es lately. I like to feel I've been awarded it because of my willingness to help and respond over the years.

I dont have a problem with any other reefing web sites, except that only R2R is the only that will allow links from other forums.

I've never had any issues with RC. I'm members of both. Used to be just on RC, but I'm on R2R more now.

Oh WOW. For a user based forum this is pretty bold. Makes me wonder their stance when it comes to customer vs retailer or manufacturer.

After all, two years before on April 1, they renamed the site Wreath Central and had special filters that would change words like "calcium reactor" to "yule log" and "skimmer" to "garland" etc. Made for some funny reading that day. The following year, they called themselves Beef Central, and made an announcement about how the site was about educating everyone about the best choice cuts of meat. So when I did my joke on my own website, I was surprised they were upset, and got a lifetime ban.

I don't see any reason to go back, btw.

I originally got perma-banned under this username on RC in about 2008 for posting to many times in a thread some Mod created. I made a few other accounts over the years but apparently they tracked IPs or my Photobucket account when I was selling stuff and all those accounts got banned by the same Mod as before. Figured out their trick, and I still have an account there and I giggle to myself every time I post a response to the Mod that banned me in the first place.
