Do you Coral QT

Where do you get your frags from ?
Fragbox or Candy coral.
But corals cannot be exported outside Canada.
I pick them out myself.

Depends on who I get the coral from. If it’s a reliable online vendor, not likely. Someone or an LFS where I pick the coral out, depends. If it appears their tanks are clean, I probably wouldn’t but I have a particular LFS that has a habitual Aiptasia problem so anything from them goes into QT for at least a couple weeks to allow Aiptasia to make itself known so I can eradicate it

what does your QT consist of ? What’s your set up. Also, wouldn’t that be possible in a DT on a frag rack and removing plugs ?

Mine is just a little 5.5 gallon with a couple small pieces of rock, a hang on back filter, heater and light.

It would be possible but I have a fear of once Aiptasia is in the display tank, it will always be in there. Also, many of the coral this LFS sells are either wild pieces on rock and not on frag plugs or larger colonies where the Aiptasia can hide towards the base of the actual coral.

I don't QT coral but do understand the risks -- I just dip and put straight into DT. (I have soft corals only)

I do QT inverts for 45+ days (and HTTM for fish) but have just been chancing it with soft corals although I do believe that the risk is less (but not zero, obviously).

I’m curious if any of you that qt are concerned about parameters? How do you maintain them?
I just do a weekly water change. This might be trickier with SPS, but with the softies it's pretty simple. They are growing, and reproducing. I do feed my crabs and snails daily, just a little bit of mysis or flakes. I am going to add some starfish, but I have to wait for my first qt batch to make it to the DT, or I will have to restart my 76 days again. Btw, I just have a small Fluval 13.5 kit, nothing special when it comes to lighting, but it's sufficient for the time being.

Do you test your QT parameters ? I would assume your corals need some nutrients

There’s many that don’t QT. I never did and ran into a bryopsis infestation that wiped my tank. Granted, I brought it into my reef from a rock I got at a frag swap.
