Do you remember reefing when...

When (many corals) became officially high end named acros after getting the stamp of approval from Steve Tyree at http://www.reeffarmers.com/
which made them LE. Limited edition.
As far as I know, he started the whole naming of corals game.
Nowadays people are asking for trade name identification of corals with no lineage…..

When Flying Fish Express was the absolute best online vendor in the game, they had all the livestock listed on the website in stock, sometimes you would get a call from the packer while packing your order and saying hey this such and such fish you ordered is not looking to good and then asking you if wanted something better instead and really hook you up, and their customer service was the best ever, that was before Smith and Forster brought them out, and it just went downhill from there, it still stinks for the most part, another thing is the good old days before “ per polyp” existed, I would like to drowned whoever sort of that ****

I was a young fresh water guy and would go into LFS and see all of this rock sitting in Water filled tubs and through you got coral by buying this live rock and coral would just start growing from the rock. Someone had told me the rock was full of coral spore LOL!

Naming I recall started with reptiles and perhaps where he got the idea from. Line breeds became more expensive and still what fuels it today.

When I started with undergravel filters on a 30 gal long tank.
And the cool sump at the LFS had like 5 drip trays of crushed rock as biological filtration.
