Dollar dollar bills

If the price of a frag is what the market will bear, there is nothing wrong with someone selling a frag at the same price. Once supply increases, the price one can demand will drop.

Nobody is “killing the hobby”. There is a market for high-end frags, but that isn’t somehow making the market for regular, classic corals just disappear. There’s a LOT of cheap coral out there for anyone to buy if they don’t want to spend on the “designer” stuff.

Your argument just stinks of “I’m old school and better than all this newfangled high-end coral stuff.” Good for you.

Learning how to use commas and periods will make it much easier to read and understand you. Maybe then your opinions will have a bit more gravity to them, but until then, they just read like the ramblings of an uneducated simpleton.
So you go and try to degrade me I’m a simpleton whatever go get a life grow up always some jerk no it all on these forums

It’s spelled “know-it-all”, bud.

Those other things up there are apostrophes, quotation marks (or inverted commas, if you wish), commas, and periods. They really help if you want people to take your opinions seriously.

Right on. You’re right, of course. I went too far. This thread has grown frustrating for me, so I’ll bail out before I cross any more lines. I blame election season stress. :P

Well sometimes you can’t really blame on whoever is selling it really. Put it this way, if a hobbyist paid $100 for a little frag and it took him over a year to grow that out. When it’s time for him to frag and sell it and it would be $100 for a small frag too or whatever the market value is.

Have you seen a $29.99 gsp frag ——— ? I let you all fill in the blank. I mean, that’s so easy to frag and fast grower it’s like weed.

we can be on this topic on and on. The bottom line is, most hobbyists have expenses to pay, stuffs they need or want. If there’s an opportunity that they can make money out of the frags, I don’t see a problem.

it’s nice that whoever give away corals or sell them at a really low price so that the hobby can spread and grow but

my thought on the matter.....
it's only time until no more wild corals are coming in. it's unfortunate but i really think that it will happen in our life time. so to me the best bet would to get as many corals of all types into peoples tanks. how often to we hear about a natural disaster hitting an area and many people loose tanks full of coral?

what every your price point is lets get as many corals out there as we can, someday future reefers will thank us.

I would love to start a non profit coral bank. people can send in a frag its grown out and offered back to the community. IDK something I have been thinking alot of the last few years. I'll be the 1st to admit I don't have all the details work out...but the vision is there.

Likely, a year later, a $500 dollar frag, if fragged would carry a 25% to 40% decrease. Look at HW and WD, as they circulate, grown out, they lose market value. This is why I kept my shrooms and put in their own tank. They are quite sellable, easy to keep, and hold market value. To each their own, but the "splice" for example. I bet a year from this post, it will be 50% less market value. Does anyone remember $500 Efflo? Only piece I would spend top dollar on is the holy grail of acros, the true Purple Monster :)
Cheers and Happy Reefing!

to each their own... I might and I mean might pay 75 usd for a euphyllia head or a japanese tree but never for some funny named stick ... 50 60 bucks maybe if the sticks a wishbone

won’t be long before someone invents “glow coral” anyway
