Dosing 3% Hydrogen Peroxide with Acropora in the system

Has anybody tried dosing 3% Hydrogen Peroxide in an Acropora tank?

I have some remnants of Dino’s still patiently waiting for me to mess up so they can blow up again. Sure would like to eliminate them.

Have you tried dosing bacteria? I was a huge proponent of peroxide a few years ago but have had better results with microbacter clean and microbacter 7.

Heard some good things about it with Dino’s but can’t verify for sure. The reefers making the claims are veterans in the hobby.

Peroxide works but slowly and not as well as bac in my experience. I think you'd have better results continuing dosing the microbacter and waiting it out, it will eventually clear it all.

I was running uln then dinos took over. No more low nutrients for me . Run phosphate at .1 nitrates 8 dinos dissappear.

Yeah my nutrients are elevated but they’re still there.

For me it was the addition of a uv running 24/7 in the display was the final nail in the coffin. I did try h202 also and apart from zoas closing up I couldn’t really tell if it worked.

I dose 50ml of 3% H2O2 daily (in divided doses) and I have for 6 months.

105 gallon system.

If your dosing is via a mechanical doser, do you need to stir up the bacter before each hit?

I dose manually, Mb7 and mb clean weekly according to the recommended dosage on the bottle. When I started and needed to clear an outbreak I dosed daily for 10 days. At the end of those 10 days I was 90% dino free. After I switched to weekly the remaining bits were gone in a few weeks.
I've been free of any algae, dinos, cyano, you name it in all my tanks for a few years now... I attribute this to the weekly maintenance dosing.

Edit: I should mention I have seen a few initial signs of algae now and again, when I do, I up the dosage to twice a week and within a few weeks everything's clean and clear again.

Dang, sounds like a lot. I also have a 105/G system. Have you noticed any negative effects? Do the corals have to get acclimated to it? What is a good starting dose, and did you dose it for Dino’s?

It's not that I'm aware of, everything tests where I expect it. Unless I'm running high to begin with and it's helping keep them down...

I used the humble fish method (gradual increase) and it was started for a velvet outbreak

I have a Aqua Ultraviolet 57watt on my 100g and like it quite well.
