So. Lets do some math... to dose redsea's iron.
1.total system water volume is 175 Gallons. Aka =662 liters
2. Redsea test kit reads 0 iron.

Based on the charts in the photos...How much do i dose to achive .15ppms

I tought red sea was simple to dose. Lol. Anyway. .. heres how me and the lfs read this....... for a test reading of 0 and a tank size of 660 liters (aka 175g) then 90 mls per 25 gallons is needed..... so 25 gallons goes into 175...7 times... Therefore.7 times 90 mls will equal a dose of 630 ml dose..... wow

I will try to break it down

1ml / 25gal = 0.01ppm

First lets use your tank volume..175gal/25gal = 7 so you need 7ml to achieve 0.01ppm of iron in your tank

Now your goal of 0.15ppm... 0.15/0.01=15

Therefore 7ml x 15 = 105ml

I think you LFS just want you to buy more bottles. [emoji3166]

We used the instructions. And per the 1 ml per 25 is the daily dosing formula based on tank uptake/ consumption. I beleive.

Heres the instruction page. #2 tells us to use the chart.

Did you already dose 630ml? If so, please test your tanks iron level

Question...where did you find in the chart to dose 90ml per 25gal to achieve 0.15ppm?

There are two kinds of people in this world; those that are good at math and those that aren't. ;)

@david campbell - Just to clarify; is your system volume really 175g? Or is it 175g less displacement for sand, rocks, etc.? Sophmoric question, I realize, but not everyone considers water displacement when calculating formulas. Then the misfortune of overdosing occurs and, well, you know the rest.

Yes and no. I have dosed 300 mls. The plan was to break up the doses. So yes and no. I have retested my tank and it still reads 0.

The chart came from the back of the bottle in the pics.

Focus people. Lol.. let me rephrase my question if you use the charts in the pictures what size dose would be needed to achieve a .15 ppm in a 600 liter sytem.

How long ago did u dose?

My question was, how did you and the LFS figure out by using the chart ...the 90ml per 25gal dosing volume?

I get the same answer (105ml) even when I use the chart

But I agree with curusso1993, please do put into consideration the displacement of water from adding rocks and sand to your tank.

The dosing chart on the bottle has a testing reading column(red).. my test was 0 next. The chart also highlights has a tank volume row (black).. well we know the tank volume is 600 liters. Match the test row with the tank volume column and it gives a number..... the text above these numbers say...ml/25g for .015.. we assume that the number is the dose required per 25 g. So if you add the number under the 400 liter and 200 liter together you get 90 ml per 25 g.......

Take your own advice and FOCUS. LOL

You mistake was an additional 0 after the decimal point which is significant

Bottle indicated 0.15 and not 0.015
