Update warning!!!! Long post
Just placed some orders online Premium Aquatics & Bulk Reef Supply:
Radion Pro
Octopus DC-2 POV skimmer
4 stage RODI with TDS and gauge
Refractometer
Gallon of ROX carbon
Bucket of Red Sea coral pro salt
80 pounds of Carib sea special grade dry sand
New magnet for my Tunze osmolator
and a bucket of Nitra-guard bio cubes.
The DC pump I need (Waveline dc-500) is currently out of stock at the two online shops that offer them. Premium Aquatics has a Speedwave DC-5000 that they themselves have stated is the exact same pump as the waveline. They have the pump in stock, but its $40 more than the competition. If they are willing to price match, I will see if they can piggyback it on my big order.
I had cut acrylic baffles for my glass 40b sump. I called a glass shop my company does business with, and GLASS baffles will cost me only 14 bucks so I am going to pick those up this week.
I need to upgrade my Radion Gen 1 that I already own, but of course the website says "upgrades currently sold out" every time I check, so I am waiting for that.
I was going to drill the 40b and run the pump externally, but after everything I have read about the DC pumps, they run so cool I shouldn't have to worry about heat transfer so it's going in sump (I think).
I need to start plumbing, but would prefer to wait until I have received the skimmer so that I have a little better of an idea where to put the drain pipe from the overflow.
I decided against three separate reactors, and am willing to give the nitra-guard bio cubes a shot. They recommend the "bag bomb" method, which to me is ugly and sloppy looking. I've spent too much money and put too much thought into a clean and dialed looking system to toss an ugly sock filled with blocks and tied off with an airline sticking out into my sump. DBM-Reef and myself have decided we are going to build a system where the cubes are put inside a reactor which is fed with a skimmer pump. It will drive the water across the blocks, but add the oxygen which is a crucial component for the use of bio-cubes.
I don't know about heaters yet, haven't used one in a long time. Haven't ordered one, and don't own a reliable one. I'll wait to see if its necessary.
The Radions with be suspended above the tank with a plasma TV wall mount turned sideways. I found one at Fry's electronics. I am still looking else ware. If I cannot find anything comparable, I will walk into Frys, be ignored for 15 minutes, finally be helped by a smug "techie" who is comically condescending, and proceed to fork over my hard earned cash. :tsk:

Eh......... Yes and NO.
I really like the Radion when its working. I have however had the fan fail twice. I am on my third fixture in one year. Both times Ecotech warrantied the lamp, but not before requiring me to ship it to them. In both cases they determined the fault to be theirs, and not water damage. In both cases I was without a light for around 10 days. The gen 2 and pro are supposed to have a better fan, so we will see.
They sold the lamp originally as being "fully upgradeable" and in reality its been more like they[FONT=Helvetica Neue, arial, sans-serif] sell a newer version fixture first, and many months later cryptically offer an upgrade path for existing users.
Don't get me wrong, I love the light enough to buy another. I really hope the Pro is less prone to failure.

I was kinda joking about our own sub forum here in R2R. I could set us up a Facebook page where we could share photos I suppose. I used krylon spray paint, and did several light coats. Make sure to mask tape it well so you don't get paint inside the tank.

I just planned to have my h20 level about 1.25" below and follow the instructions that came with the OF. I think the OF causes water to raise 1/2 to 3/4 but I'd read it again just to be sure.
