DSA Neo 105 rimless build

I paid 899 for mine and the overflow kit was 100 from glass-holes.xxx

The kit included the hole saws too.

I have a buddy who ordered the reef ready version and it was 999.

question:

What brand tv mount is that? did you have to alter it to get the tv plate to face down in the direction of the tank?

Lookin good so far, pretty ingenious with the TV mount for the lights! Really like the scaping.

It's actually a hybrid of two wall mounts unfortunately. Two entirely different styles and brands. In addition I had to add some angle aluminum stick to make the rails. I used a rivet gun to anchor everything as I felt it would look better than nuts and bolts, and more importantly be lighter in weight.

Kinda an expensive bracket, as the mounts were 90 each plus the cost of the aluminum and with sales tax I am into it well over 230 bucks, but it does exactly what I want it to do, so it's worth it. Almost.

SG is at 1.026 (35ppm) and the temp is up to 76.

I need to play with the mp40 a bit more. If I delay the pulse another 15 seconds it should provide a good solid 10 seconds of look down without surface agitation causing distorted view.

The skimmer is silent and so far is very very impressive. Actually the whole system is remarkably quiet. My wife even commented on how quiet the whole system is.

Following along, great idea on the TV mount, looking good...

What pump are you using for your return?

A DC Speedwave DC5000 pump. The Waveline DC5000 is the same thing. I picked mine up from premium aquatics.

Finished setting up the Tunze ATO. The tank is now fully up and running.

I've started dosing Brightwell Aquatics Mb7. Right now I am following new tank dosing, even shutting the skimmer down for 4 hours each day. The stuff helps with water clarity for sure.

I was able to slip in on the Ecotech upgrade release on Monday. Light came down last night and shipped out today for upgrade.

The last thing I need to order is my reactor.

I actually just talked to one of the guys that started DSA this morning about upgrading this tank to low-iron glass. Really down to Earth, I got him on the customer service line, very friendly. Unfortunately I will have to order through a retailer (That Fish Place) so Im waiting on a quote back from them. Regardless I will be getting this tank in the pro version with or w/o the low iron glass. WooHoo.

Skim that is so clean looking.....I hope you don't mind but this will be the setup I'm going sell to my wife with lol. How can she say no to something that looks that PRO? I think the backboard will close the deal.

so now that its running how are the optics of the tank? Is Starfire glass an unnecessary expense in your opinion? (lol haven't even gotten the quote but it will prob explode my budget)

Pretty sweet build. love the tv stand idea (minus the cost haha). My lfs has this tank and I really like the size and style of it. You got tank and stand for 899??

sent from my phone.

That's great to hear. My only complaint with DSA is that they put stickers on the tank that require denatured alcohol and a razor blade to remove. Other than that I'm happy.

As for low iron glass, I've seen it to be way too soft. It doesn't scratch as easily as acrylic, but much easier than regular glass. If I ended up with a scratch, I'd hate the tank entirely. Wasn't worth the risk to me. Regardless of price.

Just came across your thread. Very nice! Will be following along.

Thanks!

My gen 1 Radion -to -pro upgrade will be back in my grubby little hands tonight. I can't wait to be back to having more than half a tank lit up. I'll post pictures this weekend.
