Trying not to creep.. But did you move the tank to another wall in the room? Could've sworn I saw windows in the first pics? What's the big gray thing behind your tank? Covering the window?

Looks good. Excited to see to continue. Ill be getting a dsa 105 this sometime this year. Can't wait.

Creepy! No we moved the tank. I stuck my head down the heating vent draw and noticed the joists were running parallel to the tank. I didn't have the guts to risk it. Moved it to a load bearing wall, where it also hits 2 floor joists.

As for the background, my wife and I built it. It's a frame, wrapped in a gray fabric that's often used for dress slacks. Kinda a gray with black fleck like a pea coat. It will prevent salt creep from getting to the wall, absorb light since open top lit tanks usually reflect light off the wall behind the tank, and finally I think it gives it a showcase look.

Once the light is installed, I'll take a picture from straight on in the front. The fabric panel looks really neat I think.

very clever. Thats one of the few reasons i stick to canopies. I m not a fan of the light that is cast out over rimless tanks. the other reason being i am plagued with the carpet diving curse. Ive had soo many suicides its ridiculous.

I like what you did with the tv mount. Ive got mine on a flat panel mount as well, but its in a canopy so i didnt use the swivel arm. If i opt to try rimless i think the swivel mount is the way to go.

Yeah I really hope carpet surfing is not going to be a problem. That will upset the wife in a hurry. I hope that with no aggressive tank mates, in combination with good tank maintenance practices, it will keep everyone submerged.

I am really happy with how the mount turned out. I wanted to keep the light mount simple, and solid as I'm not much of a fan of hanging them with cables.

The bracket moves about easily too. I have the best of intentions, and I intend to keep the tank clean. Including the back wall. Being able to keep the lights above the tank, but move them side to side allows for easy access to everything.

I don't think I've talked livestock, so here goes..

In QT I have my flame hawk, mellinarus wrasse, and mandarin goby. All came from my previous setup and will go into this one.

I am looking to add maybe:

3-5 green chromis
Trio of ventralis anthias
Blue spot jawfish
Onyx clowns

I want to have a "centerpiece" fish an for that I am torn between:

Blueface angel or Goldflake angel

My wife loves the blueface and with an open top and minimal liverock it would be fairly easy to pull him if he becomes a coral muncher.

As for coral and inverts......
Ritteri anemone, and then SPS, high end LPS and a few choice zoas.

Oh and my buddy is holding a giant clam for me!

Nice build you have going on.Can i ask what you paid for your tank and stand?I am thinking about buying the same tank and so far i have seen online for 1325.00 at my door.How are the prices at LFS?
