Dusty's 14 gallon Biocube

I realised I never did post any pictures of how I have my filtration.

It's just the stock filter that I gutted. When you pull them apart there this small little filter pad I kept to I could have a template.

I just used that bonded filter pad for now. I suppose one could use something else. But I've had this sheet since I started the tank and I still have plenty left.

So I had this hole in my rock and an empty spot and it was bugging me so...

Some clove polyp. It just happen to fit perfectly in there!

I also bought even more Zoas cause I can stop. $5 frags are the best and worst thing to ever happen lol

So I want to get a wrasse. I've been looking at the 6 line and wanting one of those mostly for some more colour and pest control. But from another thread I just saw in here it looks like the Yellow Wrasse (Halichoeres chrysus) is also good for pest controll. Anyone have any input?? My LFS has a yellow for $15.

My first choice would be a pygmy wrasse. They are small and peaceful, but they are more expensive than six lines. Six lines are pretty aggressive, but that would be my second choice. They are a pretty small wrasse, but I would be worried about your skunk clown. If you didn't have them in there, it would probably be fine. The only thing is that tank may be a little small for him. From what I have seen from very light research, you should absolutely not get a yellow wrasse, they need at least a 50 gallon tank.

Well guys I pulled the trigger on a new light. Had my LFS order me up a SB Reef Light Sprite. I'm gonna gut and cut the stock hood and put it in just like they did to their 29g BC. Pretty stoked, I'm also probably going to do a little rescape while I'm at it as I've gotten kinda bored with the way my rock is. My LFS also got in 2 Orange Skunk Clowns and I was very tempted in trading my Pink Skunk if for them (plus some cash) but figured I like my clown, Pepe LePew.

Quick little update. I added a six line about 2 weeks ago and my lovely little pink skunk decided it hated it and beat the crap out of it and it unfortunately ended up dying. I was bummed. I really like six lines so I ended up taking my skunk out and taking him back to my LFS. I ended up trading him for 2 tank raised Percs (really hoping they end up hosting in my RBT), a Lubbock's Wrasse, and a PJ cardinal. I'm pretty stoked. I was able to actually stock my tank finally instead of having to wait to hunt down some other fish that didn't get jacked by my pink skunk.

Also I got my light in finally. It is super bright when it's cranked up all the way! I'm very pleased with the colour. I don't have it on the tank yet. I want to add a small moonlight LED strip to it and make some kind of lid or screen top or something for the tank as I'll be running open top. I was going to just cut n gut the stock hood but once I saw those Innovative Marine Abyss tanks I knew I needed one lol.

That's all for now. I'll be heading to Home Depot here in a few minutes to see what I can come up with for a top. Once I do that, I'll upload some new shots of the tank! Oh there's still a possibility of a rescape too.

Yup. My LFS had some anti ich food pellets they let me try out. It says not to let any inverts or corals have any as it'll kill em so I think I'll just feed them that every few days from now on.

On another note, I was doing a water change yesterday and my Wrasse decided he wanted to try being a flying fish. I eventually found him and got him back in the tank. I haven't had a chance to check on him yet but as of last night he was doing fine.

The tanks pretty much been on autopilot lately but I got some good shots recently.

I need to get an updated fts. I have a few more corals I've added recently too. Mainly some more Zoas and a few pieces of Frog in a Blender, at least that's what I was told it was called lol.

Thanks @Tori!

@BlueChip thanks for following along! To say it's been a journey is an understatement hahah. Let me know if you have any questions about the tank!

Did a water change today and I was going to change my filter out and after throwing away the used filter pad I realized I couldn't find the new stuff lol oops. So here's a fts!

New mushroom in the center there. There's also aneed orange one but it's kinda hiding below it.
I was trying to get a picture of my new red scooter blenny but he's being a jerk lol

Nice job!

Thanks guys! I appreciate it!

I'm really digging this new light! I've had it on for a few months now and my corals seriously seem to be liking it.

If anyone's in the market for lights, check out SB Reeflights.
