Dying birdsnest

i just thought if it wasnt filled up all the way your numbers would be wrong but even with a .5 point swing im still in range only thing is alk is in the 12's but it has tested there ever since i started testing it so if its wrong least im consistent lol

have started seeing more and more pineapple sponges and like dust/fur or something on the rocks

no the tank has been set up for about two weeks shy of a year first fish went in 4/20/15 so the log book says

pineapple sponge proliferation is an indication of a rich nutrient or particulate system. they die down after that phase. ime usually after the 4-5 month mark.

i have never seen calc mag or alk drop since i have been testing it which is 1 time a month before wc i dont have to do top offs very often i have a lid on the tank and use led's mostly they are small leds but thats my main light i do throw 2 bulb t5s on few hours a day

wish they would they get everywhere i know we overfeed most the time specially the mysis but 95% of the time the pig of a yellowtang dont let it reach the bottom

lack of activity in a year long tank is either bad testing, or something is missing. i have many questions now. but i cant deep dive atm in to this. perhaps tomorrow.

in the meantime.
tank size, lights, your gettup will tell us a lot :)

you need more power captain. even if you give her all she's got. 120w for led minimum.

well... thats what "I" would do

i somehow KNEW that was gonna be the first response LOL have been looking at the marsaqua 300w just havent pulled the trigger cause the 125 has 4 6ft t12 vho's already and going to upgrade just havent had time to reseal and paint the new tank or set up the sump etc got parts coming in slowly new powerheads skimmer pump gonna rebuild the sump also

no metals go in the tank sept for some grabby pole if i need to move a rock or something but normally just plastic and the metal of the glass scrapper
